I am still unclear on the Brit?Diff on collage/uni thang.  Pud?

If I recall correctly, college is normally a level between high school and university which either prepares students for university or gives certain skills (eg carpentry) as a technical school. In the UK colleges formerly couldn't award degrees, but I think that has changed now. Also a college can be a grouping of faculties/departments as part of a university, or even a residential area for students.

In America it's more of a term used interchangeably with university.

Jackstar

By way of example, a university could contain several colleges. Both are merely names of bodies.

Indeed, except there is one recourse.  Elect someone who will control the border, and deport people who are here illegally.

And that someone wasn't Mrs Clinton
Why do you bring Hillary up, as I never voted for her?   I have a problem with importing large groups of the same culture because they tend to live in ghettos and reject the melting pot.  Illegals lower the salaries of our unskilled jobs, as a whole.  This leaves US citizens unable to survive on those salaries.  Blacks are denied a stepping stone to better employment.  Al Sharpton was against illegals for this very reason initially until an appeal was made to his personal greed.

I think we need scrutiny of businesses who hire such people.  If there are no jobs they'll have no incentive to come here.  They can catapult drugs over the wall.  We are still finding tunnels in use.

I'm considering protesting.  The government does not pay anything towards my dental work.  :'(  But I hear prisons will supply a dentist.  ;)
Did anyone ever ask why we never used the free market system to help regulate health care?  NO - our government, our system, ALWAYS catered to the insurance companies.  Somehow, that was supposed to be capitalism.  And the consumer got screwed.

We never even tried to coax doctors and dentists and hospitals to publish prices on websites, did we?  They usually don't even publish prices in the waiting rooms.  At least, I would think, that would have been worth a shot before overhauling the entire system.

This one is a piece of work. Listening to her talk, she sounds like she's heavily medicated.
Yes, but she sure can think on her feet.  When Chuck Todd called Trump a liar, she said they weren't lies, they were just 'alternate truths'.  Talk about Republican doublespeak!

WikiLeaks has had enough of Trump too.

Julian Assange is tring to deflect attention away from the fact that he is crawfishing from his promise to visit the United astates if Bradley Manning was shown clemency.

Good question.   Why not let the Supply and Demand Curve dictate prices?  Well for one thing on the supply side we are dealing with an essentially monolithic medical industry that despite having many practioners or "providers" acts as one in conjunction with the insurance industry to set fees for physician face time, drugs and diagnostics.  There is no real competition as in the used car business where if you don't like the prices charged by Happy Harry's Gently Used Car Emporium you can go to Honest John's Cherry Pre-owned Auto Sales.  On the demand side, very few go a lifetime without requiring some sort of medical treatment as born out by actuarial tables so the demand is essentially steady state or increasing and is really only inluenced by population fluctuations e.g. changes in the greater population or within a particular population demographic such as when we Baby Boomers entered our golden years at which point we started falling apart physically and sometimes mentally mostly from the effects of riotous living or due to the law of entropy.

Put simply the variable on the demand side is either steady or growing and the supply side is a variable idriven by medical school output and migration of foreign physicians to the U.S.    How can the purchasing power at each price level be determined when the competition factor is negated and demand remains constant or increases but is not effected by consumers unwillingness to pony up the money at some break point.  Does someone really have the option to hold off on being treated for a bleeding ulcer until costs come down.

I know you knew all this but somehow this reality has gotten lost in the discussion.

Every time I turn this on, it's a fucking complete trainwreck. It's hypnotic. Look at the broad on the right, she can't even put down her coffee from Starb--oh, never mind, she's wandered off. Must've been something shiny off-camera.

Unlike a used car, it is something that everybody requires.  You cannot take transit, a plane, a bicycle or walk rather than visit "happy Harry's used car emporium."

Also, if you put off purchasing the 1978 volkswagen and getting a small procedure done, you may end up needing to purchase the late model Mercedes at a later date...

...and that ladies and gentlemen is why insurance led healthcare does not put the patient first, as it was never designed to.

More famous than him? As long as that's pulled back and Comey has an 'accident', Trump's ego might reman intact.

Dear Mr. Putin, Let’s Play Chess
JANUARY 17, 2017 ~ PATRIBOTICS
PART ONE: PAWN TAKES QUEEN

I have an overarching theory of Russia’s attack on America and the West. Here it is.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There have not been a series of attacks on America and Europe by Vladimir Putin. There has been one single operation; it is the same operation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Russia’s FBI Field Office moles pressure Comey into releasing his letter, and thereby spin the election to Trump.

How am doing so far, Mr. Putin? You know, for a woman. And an amateur.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PART TWO  â€"  FBI: WHITE KNIGHT VS BLACK KNIGHT
Or, James Comey’s Counterintelligence FBI vs Rudy Giuliani’s NY Criminal FBI
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Impeachment of Mr. Trump is on the way.
