Actually, WW2 is within living memory of a great many volk here in Los Estados Unidos.  When I am at the VFW, the older dudes quaff their Scotch like it's tap water and pontificate quite readily about the ass rape that is Europe, europeon politics and it's ppl.   The consensus seems to be that the Euros had us over to settle their shit.  Twice.  Next time, fuck 'em.

I also remember fm school, that the general opinion of the U.S. is that we were separated fm Europe by the Atlantic Ocean by our creator.  For obvious  reasons.

That's never been the consensus of World War II vets in general. Most understood that fighting the Nazis in Europe or the Japanese in Pacific island chains was a better option than fighting them on American soil. Nobody likes cleaning up other people's messes but the U.S. acted mainly out of self-interest in World War II and an appreciation for the kind of world America wanted to live in in the future.

Yep, sure seems like something Hitler would say.

While i actually agree with a lot of her political decisions there's no way they would give state to a democrat. I think she's being considered for another cabinet position though, isn't she?

I'd guess so, he probably wouldn't have met with her otherwise.  Jim Webb seems like another possibility for the cabinet.

Eh, Trump could do a lot worse.

Who is that in the background of The Witch's picture? I thought Hervé Villechaize had died? (Better known to us as Tattoo or as an evil henchman Nick Nack in a James Bond movie, which thinking about it makes sense in both cases. He is on "ze plane!" and I'm sure Hillary has evil henchman.)

The swamp that most needs draining lies in Foggy Bottom.  Mexican-American Mitt Romney has the background and skills to do the draining.  I think Trump is interviewing to see if he can trust dog's best friend to do the job.

I'm fine with most of the "tech" guys being shut down because they, mostly, expressed their support for open-border, Billary, and etc but I wonder how the so-called "Alt-Right" or the so-called "blue collar white workers" or so-populists will see some of the appointees to his "President’s Strategic and Policy Forum," especially of the these folks from Wall Street, big hedgefunds, and big banks? And will Hollywood and the media walk-back their comments about Trump being Hitler and Trump going to pick wild-eyed crazies to eliminate our institutions, cripple the economy, and start wars with everyone? Looks to me like a lot of experienced, mainstream, sucessful people (for good or for bad, I guess, depending on one's opinion.) Even Jews are being consulted and hired by this evil Hitler!

Wasn't Romney accused of putting his dog in a cage on his roof or some thing? Maybe he can put some of the non-political employees at DOS in cages and drive them around the Beltway until they comply with an America-First policy.

I don't know unless it was blizard or super-hot conditions I'll bet his dog loved it. Every dog I've had loved to stick his head out the window or ride in the bed (I wouldn't do that on roads or highways though.) Every dog I see doing it now looks like he is having the time of his life. Something about accute sense of smell being accellerated by the speed of driving. Or maybe the cooling effect since they usually put their tongues out?

Yeah, but they're inside the car. I doubt it would've been very comfortable for any sentient being. Regardless, it speaks to a callousness that might not be such a great quality as secretary of state.  ;)

I see people with dogs in the bed all the time. I don't like it but the dogs seems to love it. I'm just afraid of what would happen in an accident so never do on roads or highways. Rarely have I seen a dog jump out on his own accord, which is actually sort of odd because I've seen dogs run out of gates, doors, etc. Also it would matter the breed. Some are bred and like harsh conditions (for a time.) I'm more afraid of the boxes folks use for bird-dogs because seem less ventilation, especially if it is a hot day.

Part of the problem is that Americans tend to be rather spoiled and haven't been through the problems that have made a larger state necessary. That's why they don't see the whole issue of Europe with much sophistication - they just don't get it...

Sooner or later, over there, people will come to realise that they are getting a raw deal and will come to resent it, just as people have done in Europe....

You must be quite mystified about what caused the Brexit vote, the Trump vote, the upcoming votes in Italy and France.  How could all these people be so wrong about what their betters are offering them?

Well, the dog was so terrified that he shit all over the car.  They had to stop to hose it down.  It was a totally horrid experience.  If it were so much fun, he should have strapped one of the kids to the roof.

At least you're not generalising... ::)

I like generalizations, they're useful in arguing and painting big pictures. The left knows that, that's why they call everyone "racists"

Quote
And his next trick? Notice he hasn't followed it up? Headline grabber. And not really even a tiny molecule of a drop in the ocean.

Well, apparently you're wrong since he just called out Rexnord -- another company planning to make the big move to Mexico. It's small, only 300 jobs lost, but surely you can see the power that lies within the concept of actually calling out companies for their actions and making a phone call to see what one can do. Doesn't matter if it works or not, and they are drops in the bucket. But it's called attempting to actually do something as opposed to Obama's "get used to it" and "the jobs aren't coming back" attitude.

What you don't realize is that Obama is Margaret Thatcher as far as regular working-class people in this country are concerned. It's really that simple. They got consistently fucked by the Democrats for decades, and this is the fallout. Unless the Democrats figure this out, which they show no signs of doing so, they will also lose the African-American vote.

Quote
And the left leaning press of the time accounted to about one. And that was owned by a fraudster pretending to be 'one of the people', name of Robert Maxwell.
As for Muslim hierachy (essentially a right wing ideology) being in tune with homosexuals, yeah, right.

I don't buy that it amounted to just one. Born in 1975, I was barely around at the time, but look, I've seen and read your science fiction from those days. Just watch a Tom Baker era episode of Dr. Who to see that there were leftists hard at work at the BBC trying to steer the public narrative. Did that affect their reporters and how they treated the news? Probably not nearly as badly as they do today; the current BBC is just a disgraceful tabloid that can't even get science stories right without using clickbait journalism tactics, but I would imagine they were already slanting away in those days. You just don't know it.

Quote
Whatever the politicians 'wanted' they didn't get, because the official opposition was unelectable for nearly twenty years after 79.

They did. The problem was that in the west political parties after WWII realized that you have an alternative to merely convincing your constituency to vote for them. You can import a new constituency, which is precisely what your country did under Labour and mine did under Lyndon Johnson and Ted Kennedy's shenanigans.

The right was complicit with all of it in both countries because the fact of the matter was that immigrants are a source of cheap labor which satisfies business lobbyists. An amnesty occurred under Reagan for this reason, as opposed to Eisenhower's previous approach of dealing with illegal immigration through mass deportation. In your case, the left realized that to support a population that was aging and provide healthcare, the declining birthrates has to be made up with immigrants.

This duality-in-selling-out of people on immigration issues has done nothing but weaken the security and democratic ideology of the Western World. We'll protect an uncontacted tribe in Peru vigorously, but not our own cultures even though Western Civilization is by far the most superior achievement humanity has ever produced. We learned, before almost everyone else, that tossing gay people off of rooftops is unacceptable. We learned that compelling women to wear burkas instead of whatever the hell they want is unacceptable. We learned that individualism and freedom is superior to dictatorship and religion-dictated darkness. But now we somehow think that multiculturalism is a good thing. It's not.

Cultures are merely collections of ideas, as are religions. There should be no such thing as a sacred idea. We tried that with Christianity, and even then no one could make it work cohesively and it split up. So now we entertain the illusion that some tribal culture stuck in the stone age has anything to offer the modern west. It doesn't. We entertain that some medieval, superstitious culture from the middle east has something to offer. It doesn't. All pales in respect to the power of western Enlightenment and science. Yet we make excuses that they somehow do offer something. And we enforce that vigorously, to the point that we instill fear into people to speak out solely to support multiculturalism to be friendly to primitive ideologies like religions. Let's not lie, we don't give a fuck about their primitive delusional religious beliefs. We only pretend to in order to get their votes.

But we went too far.

The very fact that people must hide under internet pseudonyms in order to express their real beliefs because expressing them openly has real-life consequences due to political correctness should scare you. The reason that Trump seemingly won that election out of the blue was because no one wanted to tell the pollster on the phone that they supported Trump. He also won because the leftwing narrative simply wasn't interested in some guy in Michigan losing his job, instead it was all about Identity Politics. People thought that Hillary should have won because she was a woman. Not because of her record, or her potential for impeachment. But because she was ordained from on high to be the first female president. Tell that to the rust belt. How is it any wonder that Hillary lost?

It is not 1980 Pud. Thatcher's dead and you're outdated and obsolete. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you will be able to put a finger on the pulse of the Western World and figure out what's going on. And it's not going to get any better. Just watch France and Italy.

Actually you don't need to strap them down. There is a phenomena of "kids" car-surfing and doing the same on trains- often with the should've been expected results. And they have no olfactory high from it, though, I guess until they hit the ground, third-rail, or over-pass some adreneline or boasting from videoing it high? Stupid. I agree with you, if your account is correct Romney should've have done that. Most dogs I've known love open-windows, riding in the bed, etc. But, within reason. As I've said I won't do on highways or roads. Despite them scrachting and wanting to look out and smell. I've seen people put a cat in a carrier. They often hate it, cats like to roam. And even bring the damn thing on an air-plane. We can't have peanuts anymore but someone can bring their Gitmo-styled feline carrier case for a rendition "if it fits under the seat?" There are people, not me, who are allergic.
