If England is not Europe then they need to withdraw from the Champions League, Europa League, and all Euro competitions ;D
I think some Frogs mentioned things like this after the the Brexit vote actually.  ;)

to protest against the election of Donald Trump. Dozens of people were arrested during the rallies, many of which targeted Trump’s properties.
At least 65 people were arrested in Manhattan, according to NBC New York.

On the West Coast, demonstrators in Los Angeles assembled at the 110 and 101 highway interchange, blocking traffic.
Many shouted “Hands up, don't shoot!” at police.

Hey starr ... not ignoring you. I was at lunch with my boss.
Cool!  Hope he picked up the tab, lol. ;)

I just wanted to say that I'm happy you are back.

Just saw Obama's statement from yesterday.  I must give him credit, that was very classy.

I know, I don't mean to Yanksplain things to you but over here England is considered Europe, just like Hawaii is considered to be American.

England, and the rest of the UK and Eire are part of the continent of Europe. Currently (apart from currency and one or two other things), they're also politically part of Europe. But at the time of the Magna Carta, politically they weren't.

It's not the worst idea.  The Premier League is so insanely rich it will probably surpass the Champions League someday in terms of entertainment value.

Exactly! Juncker has said pretty robustly that if the UK wants out, then totally out they should be. They can't have EU lite as it were. Though sport is separate.

But the PL is populated with foreign players. Some teams put out only foreign players. Ridiculous really. So presumably Brexit will stop all that nonesense.

Exodus 8. New King James Version (NKJV)

The Second Plague: Frogs
8. And the Lord spoke to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.
2 But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your territory with frogs.
3 So the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your bedroom,
on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls.
4
And the frogs shall come up on you, on your people, and on all your servants.”’”

5 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the rivers,
and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’”
6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat the Lord that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people;
and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to the Lord.”

9 And Moses said to Pharaoh, “Accept the honor of saying when I shall intercede for you, for your servants,
and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, that they may remain in the river only.”

10 So he said, “Tomorrow.” And he said, “Let it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.
11 And the frogs shall depart from you, from your houses, from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”

12 Then Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh. And Moses cried out to the Lord concerning the frogs which He had brought against Pharaoh.
13 So the Lord did according to the word of Moses. And the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courtyards, and out of the fields.
14
They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.
15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not heed them, as the Lord had said.

I was born and raised in California.  It sickens me to see what has happened to my beautiful state. :'(

Me too, starr.  :'(

I hope Trump decides to get rid of sanctuary cities.  That will be a start.

I'm way behind reading the thread today.

Jesus fucking Christ. Are some Yanks still labouring under the delusion the UK is ruled by a monarchy? It isn't. We have a Parliament, which incidentally can trace its heritage to the Magna Carta, which was written centuries before the bloody Constitution of the USA. Your political system wouldn't have existed without either the Magna Carta or the British Parliament.

That is what they would like you to think. lol.  However when the shit hits the fan, guess who will be running things.

Yorkie, you asked about history lessons here.  No, they are not taught presently.  If they were taught, the children might learn that the US did not invent slavery, that Jim Crow laws were imposed by Democrats, and that Josef Stalin killed more people than George W. Bush.

You're being intellectually dishonest.

Juan

Actually, I'm being somewhat sarcastic.  I read about a survey a couple of weeks ago in which recent college graduates believed those things.

I think what really made the Krauts and Frogs mad is that the UK ALREADY had "EU Lite" with all of your special 'opt-outs' and keeping the Pound and people voted for Brexit!
ps: I find interesting that your sports, soccer in particular, is so capitalist and ours is more "european" in the socialism and protectionism.

+ a billion! The problem was that we were cutting in on Great Britain's slave and opium trade.  ;)
