Assuming one pays taxes and "pay the cops salary," as often mentioned by protestors or aggrieved citizens, wouldn't the car also be, sort of our property? If I want to kick the shit out of my car I can do so (provided on my own property and I'm not going to be making an insurance claim and commit fraud.) So really it is "our" police car and the people should be able to burn or damage it whenever they wish!
