E.G. 100 members plus leader. Each pledge lie in office is 10% each of their total wealth. Going into the coffers to provide for all except those 110.

Wow- this is a lot to take in. Since there is no where in the world where this system is actually in place- your views are unique and I'm going to need some time to digest all of this.

One point I can comment on immediately is "equal respect". Respect has to be b]earned[/b]. Too many people seem to confuse common courtesy with respect. Everyone deserves to be shown common courtesy in a civil society. If you have to demand respect- you probably do not deserve it and will only receive it in the form of a pretense.

Is it? Think you'll find you're very wrong. The NHS is far from perfect, and gets abused and used as a political football. But the US (In the last twenty years) hasn't got close to the NHS in providing health care for all at a cost per patient that remotely compares. Out of eleven. The USA is eleven. The UK is about four.

Ha, in the old days nurses and doctors would retire from the same hospital where they started their career. Today you rarely see that. Staff turnover rates are incredibly high. With the change from community to corporate-owned hospitals there is little effort taken to retain experienced employees, and yes, millions of dollars are spent unnecessarily to reorient a steady stream of new employees. Unfortunately, one major factor contributing to high healthcare costs are medical errors. Whether or not anyone has connected the dots to a hospital administration standard that's blind to the stress and chaos of constant staff turnover is doubtful.

The corporate model of today's healthcare industry is a numbers game; time=money, which works if one is selling goods and some services, but the cost variables associated with caring for sick and injured human beings is not as easily quantified.

Meanwhile, one quarter of every healthcare dollar goes to pharmaceuticals, a favorite investment industry for many of the lawmakers negotiating healthcare policy in D.C. Thus, it's unlikely we'll see any significant cost reductions in that arena.
