I'm as critical of Trump now as I was during the campaign, for precisely the same reasons he's disappointing voters across party lines (and even some BGs here who voted for him). It's clear he's not up to the challenge or commitment required of POTUS. His priorities include Tweeting, making outlandish, unsubstantiated charges against our own government, and running off to golf at Mar A Lago. If he suddenly got serious about governing, I hoped at the least he might provide a moderate counter balance to the neo-cons, but they're scratching their heads too as they try to work with a WH skeleton crew populated by family members, conspiracy theorists, and heavily medicated spokespersons.

Our government is in uncharted waters under Trump, like a captain without a rudder or even a map. We can float along for awhile and pray we don't encounter a big storm. I think it's safe to say the only thing we can expect, is the unexpected.

Yes I hope Hillary never returns to politics, as for Bernie--what's to criticize, he's not the president? If he were, hmm, perhaps I'd criticize him for giving away too much. I think in a socially responsible society, everyone gives something--within their ability. No free rides. But Bernie's not the POTUS, Trump is, and I'll continue to criticize him until he proves himself worthy of the job.

Brilliant, my dear. Absolutely brilliant

Here, Kidnostad3 is quoting and replying only to my prefatory remark prior to proving him flat wrong and lying about the outcome (Comey's statements re TrumpRussia inverstgation) of todays hearing. i.e. He neglects to admit I correctly called and proved his lies and bullshit once again and tries to deflect with this.

Classic Kidnostad3:
Psychological Projection [Transference and Blame-shifting] (Freud):
a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others. For example, a person who is habitually rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude. It incorporates blame shifting.

Hahaha! Bullseye!

❌🚨FAKE/UNTRUE🚨: "Confirmed: No Collusion with Russia on the part of Trump or his Staff"

✔REAL/TRUTH: "FBI (Comey) Confirms Probe (investigations ongoing) of possible Collusion between Trump campaign and Russia." [and much more as well]

Likewise can you show your impartial assessment of Trump? Perhaps how you assess the Comey and Rogers meeting with congress yesterday?
With respect to what came out in yesterday's testimony by Comey, there was ample crowing on this thread about Trump's allegation about Obama and nothing said about there being no evidence of collusion by Trump or his staff.  Would you expect me to restate what has already been said about Trump's allegations.  You can be such a disengenuous asshole.

Below are a few of my criticisms of Trump.  If you go back before of the first of the year you will find more.  I don't have the time.    Now you show me where you have been anything other than maliciously critical of Trump[/

Trump should STFU about things that are essentially a family business matter.  Having said that, it is clear that his daughter is being punished for her father's political views.

One major issue I have with Trump, but really it is the legislatures in various States and in Congress to blame. is on asset forfeiture laws by which the police, IRS, etc can seize your assets, or freeze them, and you need to prove the asset was acquired legally to get them back- even if you were never convicted of the crime. I think there should be a mandatory court hearing and the State has to prove the assets were gotten illegally, the burden of proof should be on them. Only exception would be in cases of terrorism for someone designated on a list or within some boundary limit (maybe the same as the border check stations) by the border and airports, or in the case of illegals, foreign nationals, etc. In those cases assets could be frozen but even then there should be a conviction to permanently seize.

Trump is a narcissistic fucking moron. Make no doubts about this.

We live in a country divided.

That may be true, but he is the narcissistic fucking moron that the people have elected.  Think what you want.  I thought much the same about Obama but I didn't hire thugs and encourage no nothing college students to riot and injure people.  Once you've done that whether it had been against Hilliary had she been elected or Trump, you have become my mortal enemy.

I will say this, Trump acted like an idiot with the Australian PM and didn't seem to know that the Australian PM was actually a conservative. I guess because of the label attached to the PM's party.

Donald is an equal opportunity offender.  Liberal, Conservative it's all the same.  That's just part of his charm

He did indeed. And I get the feeling that we're in for 8 years of fake shenanigans like this.

Since you brought the subject up, I'm going to repost something I posted last fall and really hoped I was wrong about.

"I have come to the conclusion that there can be no good outcome to this election.  Given all that has been revealed about Hilliary, and Donald's tendency to make thoughtless, bonehead statements with amazing regularity, whoever take's office will have been so badly mauled and battered by their respective critics that I question wether either will be able to govern effectively.  The fallout from this election will be heavy and lasting.

Hilliary will never be fully trusted even by her supporters and you can be sure that her detractors will use her demonstrated dishonesty and duplicity to question and undermine her legislative agenda. You can also be sure that our international foe will run the video of her buckling at the knees like she'd been pole-axed and her being flopped into a limousine like a dead game fish relentlessly.

Donald will continue to be Donald and will, through his inarticulate and/or impulsive utterances, continue to give the opposition plenty of opportunity to heap on scorn and ridicule and with the enthusiastic support of a leftist MSM will succeed in making him look like dope.  In addition, even if he survives getting cut off at knees by the republican establishment he will never garner its favor making successful implementation of the changes he as in mind a long shot.

I could  not in conscience vote for Hillary, yet as hard as I've tried to get fully on board wth Trump I, like many other conservatives, still have to preface anything I say about my intention to vote republican with something like, "I'm no fan of Donald Trump but......"  In reality we're forced to choose the least onerous of the two or not vote at all.  This is the choice that our two-party political system has given us.  Something has to change but nothing will unless this ridiculous election season produces a grass roots, massively popular third party movement."

I still hope that I am wrong about this.  I can honestly say that when Obama was elected I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and sincerely hoped that he would do well.  I tried to withold judgment and did for the first year or so.  I can see that Dems are not willing to do the same even if it would serve to heal a divided nation.  If you think I feel superior about this, you can bet your ass that I do.

He's following the Trump doctrine of thinking <sic> truth is whatever makes him feel better. Trump dismisss as fake anything he doesn't want to hear or doesn't like. He probably dosn't have the wiring in his brain (Trump) that could even remotely conceive he'd ever be wrong; need to take a step back, think it through, re-evaluate and decide another way is best.

The problem with him is that his 'truth' is whatever he decides that morning after listening to Alex Jones or reading Breitbart. And once that is embedded, he will spin out however many lies he needs to try and make it stick. Never retracting, and he'd sooner shave his head before apologising after its proved he's wrong. I bet he genuinely can't understand why he and he alone doesn't and can't run the world. He believed being POTUS was just the same as sitting on golden pans in Trump tower. And he's gone back on yet another statement about his daughter not being in a WH position. He's filling it up with those who only say yes dad/daddy/sir to anything he says or does.

What? Comey said it was an ongoing investigation and wouldn't be drawn on the likely players when asked. But it was obvious that something is ongoing otherwise he'd have exonerated the names put forward. Comey ddn't give a conclusion for the investiation because he didn't know. Presumably because they're still gathering information.

The 'leftist' media don't make him look a dope. He makes himself look a dope, with extra idiocy and lunatic tendencies. He's pissed off the US's closest allies, fortunately though, they usually work with grown ups and can circumvent Trump thus making him somewhat moot as far as everyday stuff is concerned; he's too involved with twatter anyway to deal with shit that a usual POTUS has to deal with.

Oklahoma state senator 'to quit' over motel child sex charge

Quote
An Oklahoma state senator will bow to calls to resign after he was charged this month with several counts of child prostitution, hislawyer says.Senator Ralph Shortey has been facing calls to quit since when he was caught with a 17-year-old boy in a motel in Moore on 9 March. The FBI and Secret Service have joined in the investigation, and Mr Shortey's home was searched on Friday. The married father remains a salaried, voting member of the state legislature.

Mr Shortey will resign on Wednesday, says his attorney Ed Blau. But even if found guilty of the child sex charges, he will still be eligible to collect his state retirement package.Last week the Oklahoma Senate voted unanimously to strip the 35-year-old of his privileges, including his office, his assistant and his parking spot. But Mr Shortey, who was first elected in 2010, is still able to vote on bills, unless he is formally expelled by his colleagues, or is convicted of a serious crime.

After a closed-door meeting on Monday, lawmakers said they were considering additional actions to remove the Oklahoma City Republican from the statehouse.Senate president pro tempore Mike Schulz said on Monday afternoon the chamber "reserves the right to take further action as necessary" and "continues to explore the options available".

Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn charged Mr Shortey last week with engaging in child prostitution, engaging in prostitution within 1,000ft (300 metres) of a church and transporting a minor for prostitution.

Investigators said they found the boy's Kindle Fire tablet and obtained a search warrant for it.

Police say Mr Shortey had exchanged text messages with the boy, at one point asking if he would "be interested in sexual stuff".

Mr Shortey was found with an unopened package of condoms when he was arrested, police reports indicate.

Yep, all that pizzagate conspiracy theory is being proven true, just like we said. Still, it's a drop in the bucket compared to what's going on in your country.

Good, I hope we can negotiate some kind of rapprochement with the Russians and get oil&gas deals and other business going again. It would be good for shareholders, cheaper, more stable to gas to the European markets, less reliance on Muslim regions, and help out Europe, Eastern especially, by allowing their produce and goods to be sold again in the Russian Federation and whatever new pipelines. And, obvious, to any sane person, better relations are preferable to bad ones between countries with nukes. A side benefit a part of the negotiations could include taking focus/business away from Turkey, a traitor NATO country currently threatening to send more invaders to Europe, and bring those Russian market to buy European goods. And we all can focus on the real problem which is the rise of China, N.Korea, and Islam. (Having said that never trust the Russians, still back up NATO, but less proxy wars and a cooler new "Cold War," at least.) And a less adversarial relationship over domestic issues, like when Obama ramped things up because of some innocuous laws over homosexuals before the Olympics. Or pretending that we don't spy or ever even tried to influence a foreign election. That just goes over to the world as a joke when Obama apologized for it, and declassified documents, show a long history of that, and worse.
