Not to make your day any worse, but forget the "Congress will keep him in check" thing. And the "His advisors will keep him from doing anything really dangerous" thing. This guy is a one man wrecking machine who resists like hell having anyone else temper his judgement or his actions.

A president has the power to do an awful lot of damage before Congress even has a chance to get a word in, much less pass legislation. And everyone around Trump will be hand-picked to be loyal enough, obedient enough and unqualified enough not to contest Trump's dictums (witness his picks for a foreign policy team).

The whole idea of keeping around someone like Robert Gates, a holdover from the Bush administration who stayed on as SecDef under Obama, would be anathema for Trump. Megalomaniacs and narcissists value total loyalty, not dissenting opinions or contrary points of view from people of integrity.

Trump's first and foremost task would be to replace or fire anyone he sees as a possible impediment to enforcing his orders and policies. This is what authoritarian types do when they get into power and Trump is a self-admitted and proud authoritarian.

MW has not kept up with inflation and to say that its fine at 7.25 is crazy. Most people making MW can only survive by getting aid from the government because its simply not even close to a living wage. If you really want to cut government spending what you need to do is make these corporations pay a fair wage.

Just ran those number .. Minimum wage would be about  about $14 to $15 per hour to purchase a new Chevy Impala compared to 50 years ago.. Hours need work to purchase it.
Add in  health insurance of $3.00 per hours, that wasn't paid to minimum wage workers 50 years ago.  Our Bank starting per hour cost for first job tellers is about $17.00 per hour including health insurance.. The market place has adjusted to the current cost of living .. Just saying.
