Yeah, the "optics" are bad. Even if legal the appointment of so many family members make the WH look like one of the corrupt royalty you all had and not a modern representative republic's administration. Though, depending on situation, it is also silly to not hire, or use in some capacity, someone who qualified simply because they are related to someone or you. And when the whole media, basically, and about every foreign country, and the DC establishment- and career bureaucrats inside the system- are against you it helps to have some people who can trust near you, and that might be family.
Over the years I've worked several family firms. The bad ones were terrible because of the nepotism (Talent free being made managers), the good ones were good because the boss treated everyone the same and the family member started somewhere else before working there.

Maybe they did get assurances that the WH won't be told stuff? They can't afford to tell them. Wouldn't surprise me that Israel are taking the same tack.

It depends on the business but, generally, yeah nepotism is bad. There are some business where it works and as you say the son went out and good a degree in something or worked at another business and then came back etc. Not simply promoted or hired. Though in some cases simple inheritance, I guess a form of nepotism in a way, still works.

Israel doesn't need any assurances. They have so many spies, or just people with dual-loyalties, already in agencies and government and get tons of contracts for our spyware, data mining, etc stuff from various agencies and so access to ways to get information. But such a close ally I'm sure we, pretty much, give them whatever intel they want.

I've never worked somewhere that favorites aren't chosen. Teachers' pets are ostracized in early childhood and then wind up being senior management.

Nepotism is generally bad for business, but if you work for a family firm at least you know how it's going to go - that if you're not lucky sperm you're out of luck.

Wellll.. Jared's dad was sent to prison. Prosecuted by the same guy who has allegedly told Jared to lawyer up!

Now,  how do you think he will deal with the dichotomy of being his usual loyal self to his precious father in law who has no-one else to confide in and don't tell the FBI things they might ask, or sing like a canary because he really can't contemplate the outside chance he'll be sharing a cell with a big bloke called Rudi who prefers clean cut, wax skinned cardboard cutouts.

I'd been suspicious @RoguePOTUS was a troll account, but they called this investigation of Jared at least a week ago.

Maybe fat Christie can serve as legal counsel. Wouldn't that be cosmic.

It could be financial indescretions rather than connections with Putin and his goons.

But the two aren't neccessarilly mutually exclusive. Putin directs a bank (VEB-Russian state owned) that Kushner has had links to (loans). VEB had an exec who was imprisoned in the US, he was recruiting spies. The bank head honcho is directly linked to Russian intelligence.

Could be also be related? Lots of interesting shenanigans with regard to the Bank of Cyprus, though now located in London and listed on the LSE. Prominent and  "interesting," not necessarily criminal, characters like Josef Ackermann (former DB) and Wilbur Ross (current US Sec of Commerce) involved with it and an interesting history. Lots of Russian money also was parked or funneled through Cyprus in recent years.
ps: also, anything interesting in here?:

Oh dear...Kushner is under scrutiny by the FBI. Didn't Kushner also recommend that Comey be fired? No wonder his father in law wanted the 'Russia thing' be packed away. Still, nothing to see.  ;D

Well, there goes the Democrat Fake News Media again.  Kushner has offered to answer questions about ties with Russians for the various Congressional investigations, his and those of other campaign staffers he's aware of, and has offered the FBI the same opportunity.  As with Donald Trump, he is not a suspect and is not being investigated.

And, as with Donald Trump, in the way that is being reported the pretend journalists are trying to make it appear that he is.

Please show this corruption...

Well, I don't know where you've been, but the list is long.  IRS scandal, gun running scandal, bypassing Senate approval on the reckless Iran treaty, spying on the AP, on individual journalists, and on the leaders of our allies, turning a blind eye to the various crimes of his Secretary of State, lying about ObamaCare, Benghazi, and countless other lies, all the various times Barry has thumbed his nose at the Constitution - ignoring court orders, making appointments without Senate approval, ignoring laws he didn't like while bypassing Congress to decree new ones, failing to inform Congress on various actions when required (for example letting Gitmo inmates leave without providing advance notice, including trading five high value terrorists for one deserter), sending planeloads of cash to Iran and to the Palestinians without Congressional approval, etc, etc, on and on.

I'd give you links, but you'd make the people collecting them and making the lists the issue, so you're going to have to google ''Obama scandals'' yourself.  But let's not pretend there's not a pretty high pile of them.

When it comes to obnoxious, out of touch, morally repugnant DNC shills, why are gay guys and grotesque women so over represented?

I have a theory about this.  I think it's attraction to the soft power Democratic politics represents.  You see the same selection process historically in the clergy for gay men and, since many denominations began ordaining women, those toward the horsey end of the spectrum.

are you really a black woman? that would explain a lot about this statement :(

there's no such thing as white privilege but you can be damn sure if i have my way every white person will have tremendous privilege over the dark people in the future!

gnooryblows

there is literally only black privilege in our society. it's called welfare, political correctness, inner city youth scholarships, "the race card" and every other free pass that we give to black people despite their persistent failures

gnooryblows

why, lt uhura, even with all of the black privilege that our society heaps upon inner city youths, do they still fail? why, even with all of the black privilege in the world, do they still writhe in poverty and shame? why is africa infested with aids and corruption?

gnooryblows

oh and affirmative action, lets not forget that when we talk about "black privilege", that's a pretty fucking big one right there!

gnooryblows

stop black privilege
stop mexican privilege
stop jooish privilege
stop asian privilege

the only people who are oppressed by our society are white, working class males! who pay and pay and pay all of the taxes that keep this system propped up! who pay and pay and pay and pay and their money literally goes into the fat wallets of the blacks who would just as soon see them fucking dead

there is no such thing as white privilege, lt uhura, but we sure as damn hell need to make sure that white privilege becomes a thing for the future!

gnooryblows

white privilege?

guess what? poor white boys get the worst start in life!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/34667100/poor-white-boys-get-a-worse-start-in-life-says-equality-report

end black privilege now!

gnooryblows

the reason blacks fail is because of the racial IQ gap, not some illusive boogeyman of "white privilege", for the which the exact opposite is actually true!

black people have been weened and kept surviving from the white mans welfare dollars!

end black privilege now!

end black privilege now!

end black privilege now!

put them on a boat back to africa if they don't like it here so much!

gnooryblows

this is what gnooryblows drops. im a b-52 bitch!

Lt.Uhura

gnooryblows, um did you know that Trump and his GOP accomplices intend to make serious cuts to SSI?

An age old paradigm playing out in the modern world via a concretized media/journalist priest class... plausible.  There's a potent religiousity among the progressive monoculture devout that completely eclipses what we saw from bible drunk conservatives during the Bush years.  I have friends that complain about brief brushes with subway evangelists, while spamming the Huffpo/Buzzfeed/Vox gospel all day everyday across social media. Astonishing really.
