Utter bullshit. In IT? If a foreign worker is employed in a US IT firm, they are not being paid less than an American. Theyre there because they have the expertise...

It's also the biggest companies who are the worst abusers.  Fraudbook, Apple, and the ''Do No Evil'' Google phonies probably lead the pack, followed by the other companies with the names you know.  Interestingly enough, they are also the ones you hear about lobbying for this garbage, lying about the ''need'' for all these foreigners.

There is no doubt there are some very smart, highly intelligent foreigners working for our high-tech companies.  The idea they are better workers or ''have the expertise'' is incorrect.  In engineering, as in most other professions, expertise is learned on the job.  Due to cultural and language barriers, they are not as good.  In general - not everyone. 

The ones from Europe, certainly from Western Europe fit in much better.  India, South Korea, China, these engineers tend to be less innovative, less productive, less able to work with a team, need more of their manager's time.  Again, not everyone, and again, it's cultural.  There have been plenty of very successful engineers from these places who've reached the top ranks of their companies, or gone on to form their own.  Many are exceptional.  Others are industrial spies.

The idea that we need to bring thousands of engineers from elsewhere is nonsense.  It's about cost cutting.

That certainly sounds like a recipe for success that these hugely successful firms would follow.  Finally I understand why they have outsourced- they want less innovation and more failure.
