President Donald J. Trump

As a counter to the revisionist history portrayed in the popular Broadway musical "Hamilton," another musical ought to be written about the other main character Aaron Burr who as the sitting Vice President shot and killed Hamilton in a duel.   It would be titled "Burr" and have the subtitle "The bastard had it coming."

Okay, I'm beginning to think I've got way too much free time on my hands.

This is an embarrassing, tangled mess of ill-logic, even for the likes of you. I'm calling shenanigans here.

Sooner or later, a group of public-spirited people are going to kidnap you, make you beg for your life, scrape the flesh off your bones with razor sharp clam shells and then throw you in the sea. When that happens I will probably laugh myself into apoplexy. But it will be worth it.

OK, well let's do what we like on the basis of  no evidence whatsoever then.

There's plenty of basis just by virtue that you don't need an I.D. to vote in most places here and we have 11 million undocumented foreign nationals running around.

I might decide that your head is full of tiny squirrels and try to hack your head open to try and let them out.

It is. But they have large fangs and a horrific disposition. And they're horny. Proceed with caution.

I'm always suspicious of the folk wisdom that says 'everyone knows' something. They're usually just repeating something they heard from somewhere else. The comparison between having an investigation and having observers is invalid, because the latter is a precaution only.

There is no effective difference other than one presupposes there could be fraud and the other supposes there could have been. Both address the same end.

Quote
Anyway, you lot are always going on about fiscal prudence, how much money is it going to cost to have a thorough investigation into alleged voter fraud, based on the whim of a whiny man-baby? And if they found there was nothing in it, would the people who wanted it accept the result? No, so it's a waste of time.

Probably not a lot, maybe a million per state. And, yes, people will accept it if there was no fraud. The 64 thousand dollar question would be will the whiny liberals accept it if it reveals that fraud, especially in urban areas, was widespread. I doubt they would.

All this from someone who believes Art was forced off the air by a 'stalker'? Purrrfuckinglease!!! There's nothing you won't believe.

I have nothing with which to say or suspect otherwise. I was simply happy to accept the man's word and move on. He owed me nothing. I did not need to sit around and get caught up in the group think and memes that people were making up. It was like a cheap celebrity-oriented tabloid in here, and it got so bad that it just looked like a game people were playing to see who could cast the biggest aspersions on the situation. I simply haven't got time for bullshit like that.

Still preferable to U.S. high school -or- a Clinton presidency.

Meanwhile, how about that already conclusively demonstrated voter fraud I just shoved in your face again? I'm going to do that again later as well. Pucker up, Sally.

The more you struggle, the more apparent your transparent shillery becomes. Care for some tea, mate?

Okay since you won't volunteer the information, I'm guessing your avatar is either Fearless Fosdick or Rudolph Vaselino.  Tap once for the former, twice for the latter.

I think President Trump ought to be regarded as a "Philosopher King."  You know something like the Brit royalty only smart.

He should get along just fine with the queen, since he considers himself royalty.

This ban on people from Trump's chosen few Muslim countries "because of 9/11"; doesn't include Saudi Arabia. In fact non of the countries listed have been known to export one terrorist who has attacked the USA. Turkey, SA, UEA and Egypt all have. But they're not on the banning list; Coincidentally all four have Trump constructions going on, or are about to. Course he's looking after the USA, course he is!!

Jeeeze. If he told you that his shit was toothpaste, some of you would believe him.

Some would say that.

It seems to me that was the first crack in the dam, so to speak. Returning us to the fold of mother England and Europe in general...eventually.

So, now you're implying that Saudi Arabia is controlling him?! I though it was Russia? Why do you think they're not on the list?  ???

You need to make some coffee and then wake up and smell it, because it's an irrefutable fact that any story critical of, or contradicting DT is just liberal fake news, meant to distort the truth and mislead normal Americans.

Maybe if you hadn't dropped the ball in regard to Obama it wouldn't be like that now. Frankly, I'm glad all the phoniness of the so-called "news" industry got exposed. It might not taste good right now but it's medicine we desperately needed.

Consider the following.   We have a presence in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other Muslim Countries unlike the designated countries wherein we don't have fucnctioning embassies.  Saudi Arabia and Egypt at least in theory are not jam packed with jihadis Bent on destruction.  (Yeah I know the number of Saudíes that were involved in 9/11.). They actually keep reliable records on people in data bases in those countries  Times change and now the threat comes from the countries indicated.  Do you think that such records are available in Syria, Libya and Sudan.  Those countries are where the bad guys are coming from and where vetting is the hardest to do.

Well at least its nothing to do with his business interests. Phew!!!

Next we'll be getting his tax returns.

... Mussolini used to be a Communist. The Nazis were a weird amalgam of right and left-wing ideas. It's hard to tease out one strand from another, but both were pretty ideological and well to the right, obviously...

How so?  I realize that's been the charge from the Left since WWII - more Fake News - who obviously don't wish to be associated with the Nazis, but do wish to lump everyone else in with them.  But that they were ''well to the right'' is not obvious to me.

Perhaps if you could explain what ''well to the right'' is, it would be more convincing.

Quote from: SredniVashtar on January 28, 2017, 01:53:32 PM
... In those instances, I'd used 'right' in the sense of backward-looking to a past that probably never really existed. Mussolini self-consciously used the fasces, which were used by the lictors of ancient Rome. While Nazism was steeped in neo-Wagnerian mysticism. The right tends to hark back, the left wants to create anew,  rightly or wrongly. That's a crucial difference. You saw that attitude quite strongly when it came to Brexit, where  people who wanted  it felt that they were voting for something that they had lost.

So ''Right wing'' means backward, or backward looking, with the Left of course being forward thinking, or ''progressive''?

I would suggest learning what works and what doesn't from the past isn't exactly ''harking back'' or backward looking - it's common sense.  We build on what we've experienced and learned, as with every other human endeavor.

Left wing must include not looking back, not seeing or acknowledging the damage they've caused and are causing - continuing to plow along their destructive ideological path.  Which leads to massive government control, loss of democracy, and, ultimately, dictatorship.

Fake news has been with us for well over a century, and we should always be watching out for it. Maybe you've heard of William Randolph Hearst. What's new is people using the term to describe any story with which they disagree.

Let us hope that Comrade Trump the dictator doesn't include non Muslim countries to his ban list. As it stands family members and employees of US companies can't return to their homes. Even though they have green cards and visas.

Still; its only lives. Nothing important.

Edit: So far only Iran has put a travel ban on Americans going to their country. That could extend.

Okay, I can't refute the inside information you apparently have on Trump's intentions to capitalize on his office.  It's obvious that this 70+ individual needs the money and is only in the White House to benefit himself and his family.  That would explain why he is pissing off the monied interest that supported Obama and Hilliary with his executive orders.
