You repeat the claim women make 80c for every dollar men make.  I show you the detail behind the raw data - which exposes the insinuation of gross unfairness as a lie.  (You've mentioned ''critical thinking'' in past posts, what happened to that?).

By repeating the 80c claim, you're suggesting this is common practice and we need a law against it.  I link the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission website showing there are already laws against it. 

I suggest if you know of an instance of this to get a lawyer and go to court.  Your post indicates you may have already done this.

I further suggest the people you listen to, like Elizabeth Warren, are lying, and ask why the Democrat Media isn't reporting case after case.  Your response is people don't share salaries. 

Well, the people who gather salaries for the EEOC and other federal and state agencies have them.  They would be able to see which of the largest employers are doing this, yet they find little to take action on.

I have two young employees who are in the identical position that pays fairly well.  One is looking to move to reception in the next year or two as she wants kids.  The other will continue on a path that makes use of his degree in chemical engineering.

Ten years from now, I can tell you which will be making better money and further ahead (even if she returns to her current path he will have a half decade head-start.)

It is sad, but when a woman makes the decision to have kids and voluntarily reduce her position or stay at home for a few years, she will be behind regardless of her degree (unless her husband stays home- which does occasionally occur.)

I don't put much stock in the "women make less them men" as I watch them consistently make the choice to have kids when they are in their prime (which is also when they are likely to be climbing the ladder to higher wages and more senior positions.)

I'm not arguing that wage disparity never occurs.  Simply saying that if they both stay with this company and she changes roles for 5 years that there will be a disparity in wages- even if he remains in the same role without promotion and she returns, he will be 5 years of raises on a good salary away from her (she will be starting close to the bottom as her experience in reception will not translate to lab work.)

It's simply reality and choices that we make.

I've known women who only take a short time off after delivering and do not impose their family life on their employer.  There are others, though, who take off and expect others to take up the slack.  But there are companies and managers who do not make such distinctions.  It's not just women.  I've worked with some blacks who were promoted for that very reason and no other, but others worked very hard and were loyal to the company and put in long hours and were just taken advantage of.

I didn't vote, not liking either candidate, but I'll be glad Trump won if he can do something about how my health insurance premium doubled under Obamacare.  With the doubling of that monthly payment, no more new clothes or household furnishings for me.  I can barely afford to buy a new pan, and my old pans are in poor shape (the Teflon is flaking).  This is how Obamacare hurt the middle class while he helped the lower class.  And hurt the Economy:  I used to spend a lot of money on just "stuff,".... home furnishings and electronics, movies and weekend trips,.... before the "Affordable" Care Act doubled my health insurance cost. 

I recognize the crafty transfer of wealth that Obamacare ended up being:  I pay double for my health insurance, so that a poorer person can have free or near-free health insurance.  Pretty dumb of the architects of Obamacare to not have the foresight to realize that was what the health insurance companies would do to recover the costs they lost having to offer Obamacare. 

Obama helped the under-privileged, yes, and he didn't hurt the upper classes (they have so much money it doesn't matter):  it was the middle class that suffered under his Presidency.

Sorry about your health insurance.  Trump is promising to use government bulk purchases to lower the price of drugs, which will help a lot of us. 

Many of the areas with heavy illegal immigrants have seen hospital closures.  Hospitals must take all comers in the emergency room, which drives up costs for the rest of us when people don't pay their bills.  If an area does not have enough people willing to pay their ever increasing prices to cover the indigents in emergency, it has little recourse but to close. 

Re:  teflon.  I've found them all to need replacing after a fairly short time.  Also, they outgas when you cook, which is deadly for birds and probably not so healthy for us.  We've purchased a set of cast iron pans.  They are well seasoned and have lasted for years.  Eggs do not stick on them.  After cooking I rinse them in cold water, use steel wool (which they tell you not to do, but I've had no problem with it), wipe them with a paper towel.  Usually they stay oiled/seasoned just from the oil you cook with.  The only thing I don't put in them is acid because it is supposed to  remove the seasoning.  Sometimes you can pick these up at garage sales for next to nothing.

...  If a woman has a choice of multiple low paying jobs she has no bargaining power.  Paying women less has been more often tradition than pay based on merit.  Not so long ago men in management positions thought of women as being like their wives or mothers - people fit for not much more than the manual labors of a housewife.

Even in this day we see women sleeping their way up whatever ladder is in front of them.  That's such a sick situation.

The breakthrough, in my opinion, is when men saw their daughters not wanting to marry right out of high school, not wanting to settle for low paying jobs, getting top grades in school, being smarter than their brothers.  I think most men want their daughters to succeed and not fish for or settle on the beau with the highest salary potential. 

Frankly, there are some very short-sighted men in management positions.  It's often who the boss identifies with and not the best candidate for the job who gets the promotion. 

Not every woman is mommy material, either.  This should be a choice.  Children should only be had when they are planned and well prepared for.
