Women can get equal money as soon as they start paying 50/50 for their weddings and prom tickets.

That's just an ugly rumor.

Look, I respect you, but it's not for your poker face.

...  It's very nice to be here with all the other tourists among whom are a goodly number of wonder-struck Brits who are lovely people but very hard to understand.  Yes, I do understand that this post has nothing to with Donald Trump...

Yes, but it does have to do with Yorkie and Shreddi

Maybe I did get a lawyer and maybe they settled.  I've seen many cases of discrimination.  I've had managers, after retirement, admitting such things to me.  I am not sue happy.  Frankly, most people don't know the salaries of other workers, for this very reason.  It's a pity to see people slaving away for a pittance, knowing their management doesn't give a hoot about them.

So what is it you want?

You repeat the claim women make 80c for every dollar men make.  I show you the detail behind the raw data - which exposes the insinuation of gross unfairness as a lie.  (You've mentioned ''critical thinking'' in past posts, what happened to that?).

By repeating the 80c claim, you're suggesting this is common practice and we need a law against it.  I link the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission website showing there are already laws against it.

I suggest if you know of an instance of this to get a lawyer and go to court.  Your post indicates you may have already done this.

I further suggest the people you listen to, like Elizabeth Warren, are lying, and ask why the Democrat Media isn't reporting case after case.  Your response is people don't share salaries.

Well, the people who gather salaries for the EEOC and other federal and state agencies have them.  They would be able to see which of the largest employers are doing this, yet they find little to take action on.

So what is it you want, other than a pie in the sky socialist utopia?

Oh, yes! Only you have the special knowledge and the brain to be able to make sense of it all. I think Manson also started this way.  :D
So did Hitler.

Most of those kitties just have the Hitler mustache but that one (Charles) even had the stupid hairline too. Uncanny!  :D

I have two young employees who are in the identical position that pays fairly well.  One is looking to move to reception in the next year or two as she wants kids.  The other will continue on a path that makes use of his degree in chemical engineering.

Ten years from now, I can tell you which will be making better money and further ahead (even if she returns to her current path he will have a half decade head-start.)

It is sad, but when a woman makes the decision to have kids and voluntarily reduce her position or stay at home for a few years, she will be behind regardless of her degree (unless her husband stays home- which does occasionally occur.)

I don't put much stock in the "women make less them men" as I watch them consistently make the choice to have kids when they are in their prime (which is also when they are likely to be climbing the ladder to higher wages and more senior positions.)

I'm not arguing that wage disparity never occurs.  Simply saying that if they both stay with this company and she changes roles for 5 years that there will be a disparity in wages- even if he remains in the same role without promotion and she returns, he will be 5 years of raises on a good salary away from her (she will be starting close to the bottom as her experience in reception will not translate to lab work.)

It's simply reality and choices that we make.

You are definitely a keen observer and formidable debater.  I've heard you take both sides of the same argument with equal facility.  My complements.

It's my Gemini moon. And, don't get me wrong--if they played gridiron football without choreographing like ballet, them dudes would be breaking necks like Autumn twigs.

So I'm in favor. Hemlock, too, fuck it.

I didn't vote, not liking either candidate, but I'll be glad Trump won if he can do something about how my health insurance premium doubled under Obamacare.  With the doubling of that monthly payment, no more new clothes or household furnishings for me.  I can barely afford to buy a new pan, and my old pans are in poor shape (the Teflon is flaking).  This is how Obamacare hurt the middle class while he helped the lower class.  And hurt the Economy:  I used to spend a lot of money on just "stuff,".... home furnishings and electronics, movies and weekend trips,.... before the "Affordable" Care Act doubled my health insurance cost.

I recognize the crafty transfer of wealth that Obamacare ended up being:  I pay double for my health insurance, so that a poorer person can have free or near-free health insurance.  Pretty dumb of the architects of Obamacare to not have the foresight to realize that was what the health insurance companies would do to recover the costs they lost having to offer Obamacare.

Obama helped the under-privileged, yes, and he didn't hurt the upper classes (they have so much money it doesn't matter):  it was the middle class that suffered under his Presidency.

Shouldn't your anger be directed at the insurance companies who are ripping you off?

Secondarily, yes, but primarily at the guy with a gun forcing us to patronize them.

I don't remember poor people dying in the streets before obamacare so i really don't know what it was supposed to have fixed. I know my insurance went up by double and i quit buying things, except for guns i bought a lot of fucking guns ;D

Best money i spent in the last 8 years was probably hundreds of dollars i scammed running multiple accounts on Bing Rewards. Building AR15's with parts bought off amazon that Bill Gates paid for was fucking priceless, Thank Bill.

My son in law feels your pain.  He just got notice from his health insurance carrier that his monthly payment was going from $150.00/mo $710.00/mo.  He can get other insurance for about 2/3 of the higher figure (which still ain't cheap) but he can no longer see the the dermatologist who saw him through a rather serious melanoma surgery.  He and his wife have a boy 16 and a girl 13.

Not so sir!  He may in fact be nothing less than an eccentric with an I.Q. that qualifies him for Mensa which many of us do including yours truly.  He sometimes appears cryptic because he is working several steps ahead of the smartest Brits.  Issac Newton and George Bernard Shaw had similar characteristics if I'm not mistaken.  Please try to curb your harsh criticism and if you can't do that then you should just fuck off.

There are MANY in the middle class impacted like this:  in order to just survive (i.e., pay all your bills on time), many have ended up having to change their coverage and paying more for less care and having to change all their doctors in the process, as well as higher co-pays every time they go in for an appointment.   Obamacare is very flawed.  As far as I can tell, it really only helped the lower classes and I thought many of them had health coverage through Welfare, no?  I admit I don't know exactly how that works, having always been solidly middle class.

I do know a friend of mine who has her own business and just struggles along, making something like $40,000 a year in very expensive California, was helped by Obamacare.  It cut her health insurance cost by about one-third.  I make just a bit too much money to be helped out by Obamacare.  So I'm penalized for making a decent (or what used to be) salary by having my health insurance expenses double.  It's the architects of Obamacare I blame:  that they did not factor in that health insurance companies would do this to try to cover all their losses on Obamacare patients.  They are businesses, after all, not non-profits.  United Healthcare just got out of it altogether, so that lessens competition between health insurance carriers (with one large carrier pulling out).

Atlanta is beating Green Bay in the 3rd quarter 24 to zip.  And to think, I literally paid big bucks just to watch this game on T.V.  Screw it, we're going out to have an early dinner after a few (in my case) pre-repast  martini's.  We're going to Uber.  Safety first.  There's going to be a lot of armatures out there tonight.   Of course I'm not referring to the Brits who are accomplished drinkers.  They are usually driven home by the police.

I'm going to play the part of Jackstar for a moment... You honestly think that they did not factor in the fact that insurance would get far more expensive for the middle class?
