Are you kidding me?  If there was truly compromise then there would have been Republican votes for it.  You'll have to do better than that, Uhura.

Death panels!

Your understanding of world events is woefully incomplete.

I love that you all still can't stop thinking about Bubba. He owns you bitches, even 20 years later.

Dude, he was just shitting up the television as recently as two months ago.

Do you want me to attach some animated meme to your identity? Because this is how you get me to attach some animated meme to your identity.

You are designed by nature to die at 30.

That's really just your fishy opinion.

Where the fuck were you in those days?

Working in the ER listening to people's fears about losing their job and health insurance. Or stories about their inability to get health coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Or taking care of the young motor vehicle trauma patient who told us, "Stop taking care of me, I don't have health insurance."

Where "the fuck" were you?

I was working for Boeing and probably inhaling carcinogens or at least enduring stress engaged with politics and watching Pelosi tell me that the bill of goods had to be passed before we got to find out what was in it. Now I'm self-employed and watching my premiums go up ridiculously.

I realize you view yourself as some sort of seer, divining truths your lessers can't spot, but you're just a damned lunatic. Don't go taking yourself seriously around here. No one else does.

I hope that, like Paper Boy, you have no fear of not being able to work and forced to depend on a government-subsidized healthcare program. Because it doesn't look like the Trump/GOP Goldman Sachs Billionare's club will leave any kind of safety net for you to fall back on should you need it. Good luck. Sincerely.

Well, he's a lot saner than KevinIsAHybrid. :P

Okay, if it makes everyone happy, I voted for Kodos and I feel no obligation to defend my decision to anyone.

The administrations currently appreciate your laser focus!

I don't think Mnuchin will be confirmed. Get your popcorn for that hearing. They are going to make that fucker sing like a bird.

Must have been the parts about being able to keep your doctor or existing plan if you were satisfied with them.

Or the part about saving the average current insurance holder $2500 per year.

Still cracks me up.

For personal as well as patriotic reasons, I am fascinated by watching this part of the ongoing drama unfold. I particularly love how the fakestream media totally glosses over the way the ACA is being "repealed" without substantive discussion over what the replacement topology is even going to look like.

Where have we seen this kind of thing before?

I assume that what they have waiting in the wings is some kind of Medicare/Medicaid "for all" tiered system. It's what they're essentially doing already.

I expect that in the future, there will be three tiers of care. The lowest, fully subsidized tier will be nothing but scopolomine chewing gum and fluoride enema therapy.

You and others here seem to suffer from memory loss. The word compromise was synonymous with the ACA. The compromises were in effect by the time the vote was taken.

http://articles.latimes.com/2013/oct/15/opinion/la-oe-mansbridge-obamacare-democrats-single-payer-20131015

If that's true, when they decided to cut the Rs out completely and then realized they weren't going to gain a single vote using that tactic, why didn't they change course and try force a Euro-style national healthcare system on us at that time?

This is an example of the Democrat Fake News Media changing the narrative when it fits their needs and people have forgotten the detail from years past.  Cramming ObamaCare down the throats of Americans is now ''compromise''.

Just wow.  All we need now is Segundus to tell us she was there and that's how she remembers it.

Looks like Obama is not done yet. Oman announced it has agreed to take 10 Guantanamo prisoners before he leaves office.

Thanks for boiling down my posts to ''PB wants no safety net''.  Your lack of an ability to think beyond what the Democrat Media tells you on this or any other issue leads me to believe you probably should stick with medical care, stop voting, and ignore the political process.  It isn't your thing.

Most Americans want things done the right way.  That means according to the law, and something sensible.  In the case of national legislation, that means the Congress follows the process set out in the Constitution instead of illegal tricks to get around it, and the Supreme Court following it as well.  It was outrageous they found it Constitutional - it isn't.  In the case of major national legislation, it means the support of a solid majority of Americans.

In governing philosophy, it means something leaning towards being market based, and away from Socialism, unless it can be clearly and honestly demonstrated that the issue at hand is one of the few things government can do best.  For most people, medical care is not one of those things.

I hope that helps.
