I'll appeal to authority and quote Trump, who said the past way of doing things would end; that from henceforth, the swamp would be drained (see: various references to bankers, establishment, corporate figures, etc).

So what has he done? Its okay, I'll tell you. He's played a blinder. He's installing his close family, installing business leaders who know jack about government; is unlikely to give up his business interests, and therefore capitalise (punn intended) on his position as POTUS, to increase his business empire. Look out for Trump developments in countries that want to deal more with the USA, but so far have a very small hand in doing so (Trump size hands).

I have to hand (man sized) it to him; he's played it like a Stradivarius, and he hasn't finished yet! Oh boy, will those chickens be clucking in their roost.

Added of course to the bipartisan enquiry into hacks; not helped by his oft mentioned desire on the hustings for Russia to hack e mails. The poor child just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. He's a petulant, unthinking, hard of thinking reactionary child in the body of an old man.

Enjoy! ;D

Explain how a business leader is not qualified to be in government. Then explain how a general is. Then explain how a lawyer is. I'm calling you out.

Trump campaigned against the bankers, now of course he kisses their ass.

Rolling Stone is worse than the New York Times.  Not the best place to look for unbiased reporting.  I subscribed to them for years but I got fed up with their political journalism bullshit so I cancelled.  Now I just look it over when I'm in the bookstore.

If the Dems ditch identity politics... the pendulum will swing again.

But the Dems cannot get that monkey off their back. Good, let become irrelevant in the new great America!

A business leader, an ex military person, and a lawyer might be. Just as an engineer, a doctor, a bus driver, a nurse, a professor, a builder or a pilot might be. But all if they have any sense would start low level to begin with. To get a feel for how things work, how the community where they live functions, and getting an understanding.

Dropping any of the above into a top job without any grounding of the basics is ludicrous. Irrespective of the position or political colour.

Would you feel comfortable having someone perform surgery on you who only knew how to apply a sticking plaster?

Besides just being rude and in poor taste....

Lol..I thought you were being serious! Trump has never been rude or shown poor taste fortunately. No sireee.

I like Trump so far.  First, he's not a politician.  Second, as a smart man, he shows the common sense to realize that he cannot know the answers to all the questions, nor the solutions to all the problems himself, thus he builds a cabinet of the smartest, the most experienced, and the most successful to advise him. I have no complaints so far.

Really? You need to tell him that then. He said that climate change was invented by the Chinese, that the generals didn't know what they were talking about and that he talks to himself because he has a good brain.

Experenced in what? You have a personal friend of Putin who is an ex Exxon exec...you know? Part of the swamp he was clearing out.

As for no complaints; he isn't installed yet, give it six- twelve months.

it is accepted fact and common knowledge that
federal govt IS TOO big
federal GOVT is too wasteful
federal govt IS TOO intrusive
federal govt IS TOO involved in other nations
Trump is smart, not the smartest, but smart enough to surround himself with the best attorneys builders managers accountants real estate professionals managers assistants tax professionals etc etc
IF they do not produce they are fired !
that is how he has survived the New York business and real estate environment, not only survived a cut throat environment, but lasted profited and increased his net worth
why NOT try this method at the federal govt level
(what we have is not working anyway)

do NOT forget that sometimes you need a Sammy the bull to get rid of the teflon don

Fuck that. That's what we've been doing for the last four presidencies. All four were shit. Be bold.

Elitist crap. That's like saying putting a CEO from an established corporation in charge of an entrepreneurial start up will work. It never does. What does work is when someone goes into something thinking outside of the box. We've seen special interest oil wars in the middle east. We've seen an establishment president tell us that we need to get used to job loss and unemployment. We're done with group think. We're done with the thought police.

That's what we have right now. We have a professional political agitator with ZERO real world qualification to hold an actual job that got lucky enough to snow himself into office. Barack Obama is a professional bullshit artist. That's his thing.

You cannot run a country like he runs his businesses. If his answer is to fire ad hoc anyone he thinks hisn't performing ( across the board, not just cabinet level);  you think you have a few riots here and there now? That will be nothing.

Or will he decree not to pay them, like he hasn't paid his staff in the past? He isn't that clever, he's barely literate, and has the attention span of a moth. He's prone to tantrums, and gets petulant at the slightest provocation; and that's who you need in the WH? Good luck.

Trump has the human needs of
water food sex money power
MORE than covered
I think he knows this and wants to leave a legacy for his family and himself of a President that will go down in history as a President for all the people and was able to finally fix all that was wrong in Washington

But as long as you're comfortable with him installing the very people he said were fundamentally unqualified for office (i.e. the swamp) that's fine. Bear in mind, that's why he was voted in; to rid politics of the corporate and establishment entities.

Clintons broke when leaving White House (per Crooked Hillary)
bought 3 exclusive homes
worth 150 to 300 MILLION DOLLARS ?
Trump could spend $1,000,000.00 daily until he dies
(does he want money or a legacy??)
Obama has no legacy
Clinton has no legacy
Trump will have a historic legacy
maybe Crooked Hillary's and Obama's grandchildren will learn in school how Trump fixed their grandparent's fuck ups

I presume you mean that expediency means you have to sell yourself to get the job, but when its yours you can pretty much go back on nearly everything you said that got you the job?

The point is, Trump said or implied he'd be everything that hadn't gone before: but he lied. As for legacy, oh yes! He'll leave a legacy alright, just not the one he promised or was expected to leave.

Trump is not even President yet.
But Obama has
Clinton has
Crooked Hillary has had her chance
Bush (both) have
You are such an asshole
Give Trump FOUR YEARS (maybe EIGHT YEARS)
BEFORE YOU JUDGE

You should try following your own advice.  :D

Trump will go down in history as a President who "got it" and drained the swamp.
(you may congratulate me for "getting it" in 4 or 8 years)

He's not president and already some say he's doing a great job! Oh the irony. But he's still filling rather than draining the swamp. Lol.
