Putin inspects Russian gold reserves

Last monday Primeminister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin inspected the Gold Reserves in Moscow Central Bank.
It's an area of 17.000 square metres of which currently 1.500 m2 are occupied.
In 2010 Russia's gold reserve increased 23.9% to 790 tons, or 25.4 million Troy ounces.
The Central bank wants to increase the stock by 100 Tons per year.

A nice story. I wonder why it was not reported in american media.
Probably because Obama would not have much to inspect there - if they even let him inside.
I once heard, that the James Bond movie "Goldfinger" was some kind of persiflage to the real occurrences at Fort Knox,
namely that all the gold had been stolen already by international bankers.  ;D

Looks like most countries have been sold-out to China.

Putin looks pretty good w/his shirt off, I've got to say.  Sorry for my insipid response, but all of this emphasize on gold is a little boring to me.  To a certain extent, I know that gold is important, but could it's importance be overstated?  I could be wrong, because I'm no economist.

BTW, why do you think that US MSM have been ignoring the terrible terrorist attack in Moscow?  Medvedev has said that the Chechens are not responsible.  I don't know what to think.  I feel terrible for the Russian people.  After 9/11, the world gave the US condolences.  But when a terrorist attack occurs somewhere else, Americans watch "Real Housewives of Wherever."

Lena

I dont think the US media ignored the attacks in Russia,
but I dont really watch US TV.
I would expect that they use ANY Terrorist attack to fur-then their agenda for more surveillance of their population.

As for the culprits, who knows. Most terrorism is imho government created or funded,
eg. some CIA Frontcompany funding Chechen rebels  -that's how it usually works.
They fund the terrorists, if not even assign them targets.
Always the same.
Did you know that the US started the Soviet invasion/occupation of Afghanistan by directly funding and encouraging the Afghan Mujahedeen to make terrorist attacks from Afghanistan into Soviet Territory? Zbigniew Brzezinski even brags about it: http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/BRZ110A.html

QuoteQuestion: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs ["From the Shadows"], that American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. In this period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.

Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to provoke it?

B: It isn't quite that. We didn't push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.

Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of truth. You don't regret anything today?

B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated Islamic fundamentalism represents a world menace today.

B: Nonsense! It is said that the West had a global policy in regard to Islam. That is stupid. There isn't a global Islam. Look at Islam in a rational manner and without demagoguery or emotion. It is the leading religion of the world with 1.5 billion followers. But what is there in common among Saudi Arabian fundamentalism, moderate Morocco, Pakistan militarism, Egyptian pro-Western or Central Asian secularism? Nothing more than what unites the Christian countries.

well Gold isnt so important. more important is to have a secure place to live, food and water, defence, and then gold/silver if you got the money.

Amen to that.  BTW, I really wish America had a strong Nationalist leader like Russia has in Putin.

You need Ron Paul or Jesse Ventura as President :)
but you'll probably get another slimy ass... like Mit Romney, or some showman/globalist like Rick Perry.
Obama is pretty much a trainwreck already. Don't think he's got a chance, and the puppetmasters probably will
switch to a Republican puppet.

Yes, in this area we are in total agreement.

Putin is badass! I'll bet he knocked over those trees himself. Too bad we can't have any presidents like this anymore, ever since JFK and Teddy Roosevelt before him.

Jesse Ventura is a nutjob.  He was kind of OK as my governor at first (as long as he kept his mouth shut),
but went south in a hurry and he's even less sane now.

Lena

why do you call Ventura a nutjob? Please give specific points that you disagree with.

and i say amen to this.  i'm sick of the obama apology tours, his incessant equivocation, and his refusal to use words like "victory."  he doesn't cheer-lead for this country in the slightest.  he comes from a background driven by the philosophy that the united states (and western ideas in general) are the source of the world's problems.  i'm sick of that type of thinking.  i'm sick of the people who live by it.  i'm sick of obama.  he is not good for this country.

He used to be a pro wrestler who wore a feather boa.
He claims to be a Navy SEAL when he never really was(the unit he was with merged with the SEALs after he was discharged).
He returned to the wrestling stage as a guest referee while the Governor of Minnesota.
He also moonlighted as an announcer for the short-lived XFL.
And --- he hangs out with Alex Jones.

Lena

As I thought - lots of bullshit reasons. Maybe YOU are the nutjob.

this man likes to talk, talk, talk, but he refuses to shut his fucking face and listen to anyone.  and, if you dare challenge him, he suggests you have no right to do so because you haven't been in the military.  GOD DAMN IT I HAAAAAAATE PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!  SHIT!!!!!

opie/anthony is a show by halfwits for halfwits. i cant watch them, they make me sick.
I listened to the first 2 , and the exit. proved my opinion about them (again).

Nice comeback.  Very Pee Wee like.  "I know you are, but what am I?"

OK, maybe he's not a complete fruitcake, but he's not what I'd call presidential.

Dear Lena: In all respect, please work on your grasp of my beloved English language:

Here's a 'free" lesson:

cant? This is a contraction, from "I Cannot" to "can't." Not cant. Note the contraction.

I could go on about your sentences. They lack literacy in the English Language. Please remember that when you write a verb, you need a subject. This is basic Queen's English.

I respect your views, young lady, but I can tell you never submitted an approved thesis in any major U.S. or United Kingdom institute of higher learning.

That's all. In all respect.

Yes, General, I agree. My grasp of Russian is limited as well, so I conclude you're correct. I do know all the curse words in Russian, from having been there, so I give you credit for pointing that out, sir.

I like to skip subjects when the meaning is clear, and I sometimes drop apostrophes when writing fast.
I am looking for an American boy who helps me learn by slapping my butt a bit,
but first please start a new thread with my mistakes and correct them according to the Queen's English.
I'd really like to see that, and would be very grateful.

Yes, I find these internet-clowns also disgusting who devote time to badmouth Ventura because he once said that he was a SEAL.
When Alex Jones introduced him during an interview, Ventura even corrected him that he was not a SEAL, but UDT - despite the fact that "real" SEALs don't seem to care about that at all - and even say (like the SEAL in the video) that Ventura has every right to call himself a SEAL.

The motto is derived from the practice of when we would fly to a "host" squadrons station, the aircraft would be put under cover and have its buro numbers and squadron emblem changed. Anything we purchased would go on the hosting squadrons budget.

Ventura can be bad mouthed about a lot of things, but UDT training ain't one of them. I've seen the training that they go through and would always hope one was near when misbehaving in a club. ;D  Hell, I was glad to graduate SERE school (arctic AND jungle) in one piece! Guess that's what I get for having a "helium arm".

I don't know much about the Opie and Anthony show, but like what I've seen on youtube. I think it is part of their job to "push" the guest and they do a purdy good job of it. It doesn't mean they are right. I believe any invited guest knows what to expect. In the vids that MV provided (thanks MV), it was one of those heated debates that could have only ended with the sound of a gunshot. I've said a lot of things in such debates that were unfair and should have not been said. A surprisingly human habit. 8)

Not since Kennedy has a president inspired us as a nation and hell he was hated by a large portion of the american people. As long as we have leaders that motivate us with fear we will continue to dim as a nation to emulate.

I'm sorry but not good for this country how? I will grant you I pretty much have my nose stuck in my own life and do not keep an eye on all the news items.

YOU may be tired of people that have the temerity to suggest that the US is the source (I would not say all or even a majority) of the problems in this world, but all I can say is open your eyes. We helped, heck we planned the overthrow of the secular democracy in Iran in 1954 and placed the Shaw in power. Hell look at the interference we have placed in so many third world countries to garner their resources.

It's funny that the axis of evil are three countries that would not agree with a deal with OPEK to make all purchases of oil to be made with american dollars. Hell as I said I don't even keep a close eye on this shit and I know something stinks.

I for one am damn sick and tired of people that think the US has eminent domain on the whole frikken world.

Obamas meet the queen
and Prince Phillip winks him away like a servant.

Also... the Chinese Pianist played some old Anti-American song in the White House during the last visit afaik.

Yeah, we need a cowboy who doesn't kowtow to any of them damn foreunners!!!!

Unless of course oil is involved. Then you do what you have to.
