Is Mr. Wells a musician? I seem to remember reading he played guitar or something. It would be pretty damned amusing if he phoned The Fret Files to ask The General how to repair the warped neck of an old Silvertone acoustic.

I think that's actually a pretty fair assessment of Bellgab. Wells was probably unaware we do have a few good shows. Dark weekend, jimmy church's fade to black, etc alls are members of bellgab.

We're definitely the exact opposite of "having a call screener."

What strikes me odd was the negative rant.... leaves me wondering why all of a sudden.  He thinks GNS.  So do we.  We also have members that like him and support his work.  Some don't but hey... you're going to have that.  Some of us have problems with Art, and he's, well... fucking Art.

The one thing I don't know is how long he's known of this place's existence.  CTC- history wise... I think of this place as the heir of "Fantastic Forum."  Has JBW known about this place for a while now... or just learned of it recently from a tip by one of his paid subscribers who was banned recently and holds a fucking grudge.  "You wanna get rid of me because having me as a member is 'bad for business'... well, I'll show you.  I'll get a bunch of links to posts where people talk shit about you, and send it to JBW (I'm a paid subscriber, so that increases the chance he'll notice)... and see if he'll give your forum a scathing review on one of his shows..."

Fuck it... everyone posts crazy theories from time to time.  It's just that, or...

It's as good an idea as any. May even have legs, as the individual has some pretty sociopathic tendencies. Or at least demonstrated them on here. Not sure what he hoped to achieve though.

We all know what happens when you tell someone (especially younger people) that they should avoid something though. Natural curiosity prevails and they can't help but go and see what the fuss is all about. The BBC learned that by putting a self imposed embargo on Frankie Goes to Hollywood's 'Relax'. It went to number one and stayed there for weeks...and the BBC didn't play it on the radio nor on TV! Years later it's acknowledged as one of the biggest mistakes ever made, as it promoted a poppy dance song to levels it didn't really deserve.

I'm still curious how we appeared on his radar, though.  May have heard of us from his Coast days... but he admitted he didn't talk to Noory much.  Maybe he Google'd his name... nothing stands out there.  Maybe someone on Twitter or Facebook?  Again, nothing glaring... And even if he's known of this place for a little while... what triggered him spending time on a part of a show to comment?  Almost sounded personal... reminded me of when he commented and posted a YouTube video about Capricorn Radio host and the guy he thought was a "producer"... you know, the one he said was posting his shows on YouTube...

If I tell someone a restaurant has lousy food and the staff are rude, the chance of them going there is lessened. I am not sure if that applies to forums completely, but to some extent...
