I'm a gammy!  ;D  My daughter had her baby at about 4:55 p.m. today, weighing in at 7 pounds, one ounce, and 20 inches.  Her first baby, Olivia Marie.  It was a long day, but I love that Halloween will always be her birthday.

Congrats! I hope the new mama and baby are doing well. Pretty name.

Congratulations grammy! (Am I the first to address you as such?).
I love my grandaughters as if they were my own children's children.

yeah, grandpa the toad licker

HorrorRetro

Thanks!  AB, you are the first to address me as grammy, other than my daughter who had to rub it in as soon as she had her.  ;D   I have to say, that baby is damn adorable!  Can't wait to get back to the hospital and see her tomorrow.

I hope you feel comfortable posting at least one pic, Gina! If not, I understand.

Congrats! I know that the day my son was born was the happiest day in my own mother's life. She said of grandmothering: "I was born to be a grandma, and only now found out."

Joyous days ahead...congratulations!

Thanks, and I will post a pic.  I just uploaded all my pics from today, and maybe I was exhausted or something -- we left the house at 3 a.m. -- but every photo is very blurry.  :(   I don't know what happened.  I'll get more pics tomorrow and post one then.

It's funny because my daughter, the baby's father, my husband, and me all thought of the name independent of each other during the same week, and we didn't mention it to each other right away because we thought the others wouldn't like it.  :)

Congrats, and it's indeed a very cool day for a birth. 4:55 pm means Samhain somewhere.

Congratulations to your family.  Just don't let them nickname her "Boo" for Halloween.  I've known those children and things have not turned out well.

Ha, yeah, I think we need a little gender symbol on our profile somewhere.   :D

Oh, no, that's not going to happen.  I already christened her Punkin or Punkinbutt, so that's going to be her nickname.

Olivia, Day 2  Don't worry, I won't clog up the page with baby photos.  ;D

Hey, Gammy!!  How beautiful!!!

I never wanted to be a grandma...until I was one.  :)  Best feeling in the world.
Hearty congratulations and good energy being sent your way.  ENJOY.

So, to wrap up a strange week- there's a story on drudge about a dude who went after some dudes with a chain saw. Yeah well, I know the dude.

Oh, how beautiful! She's so lovely. Again, congratulations! :)

She's a cutie, HorrorRetro!  Look at all that hair!  (My daughter was born with quite a dark mop that was mostly gone by about six months.  It grew back by the time she was about one though.)  Maybe you should post a picture in the Things that Bring Me Joy thread -- it's the very definition of joy!

Congrats, as well, HR!  Just no photos of her in a broken egg shell, that's all we ask.  ;)

Thanks, everyone.   :)  And I promise you will never see Olivia in an eggshell.

I know!  I sure hope she doesn't lose it.  My daughter was born with hair similar to hers, just not as much, but she lost it all, and it came back super curly and reddish.  I think it's the Irish in us.  Olivia is half Puerto Rican, so I'm not sure how the hair is going to turn out.

Boo Radley though.

Prediction:

Kim Novak will die in 2014. The death roster for the 1975 TV movie, Satan's Triangle will then be complete.

I love that movie.  It scared the crap out of me when I saw it as a kid.

I absolutely love it, too. I viewed it again last week. That's why Mizz Novak was on my mind. Even the director has left this mortal coil.

But Kim's still holding watch, God bless her.

Wow... I hope not.  I watched the TCM interview of her after they telecast "Vertigo," not too long ago.  She sounded pretty good but, very sadly, she hasn't aged well due to some unfortunate plastic surgery.  Her interview was quite interesting.  It's too bad she pretty much hung it up as a major screen actress at a fairly early age.   Both her and Grace Kelly, very classy ladies on the screen.
