That sums up about 83.6% of the World's affairs.

I am working to make it 100%.

The butt pluggers are going to make that difficult. But we must soldier on!

It's really boring Friday through Sunday from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm PST.

Way too many John Hogue threads open. He doesn't deserve this much space. Then again, it's all negative attention so maybe he does deserve it. But I'm just sick of reading his name. Almost makes you wish there was a "hide this thread" feature.

Ooo..ive never had that kind o food !

Ive had persian and thats pretty damn delicious

George Knapp, can't Art hire him on for Fridays or something? Get him out of there, he doesn't deserve to be lumped in with those hosts, he's so much better than that.

This would be the best possible outcome.

I'd love Knapp to move to Sirius, too, but what would that entail? I know squat about broadcasting over AM, much less satellite. Would he have to have a special hookup or go to a studio? I get the impression he broadcasts from home on his Sunday nights.

Good question... I'm really not sure what his situation is like. I just remember him fondly from shows like Sightings or Strange Universe in the 1990's and feel like he's the only one who ever sat in Art's seat and didn't annoy the shit out of me...

Had Ethiopian last night - I could eat that every day.

There are a few West African places starting to pop up and that is great too

P*B, I'm curious. I've never eaten in an Ethiopian restaurant - what are their specialties?

The best way I can describe it is a dry stew.  It's served on top of a thin spongy fermented bread called Injera.  They also serve injera with the meal - you tear a smaller piece off and use it to pick up what you want to eat (so it's all eaten with your hands).

It's beef, pork, chicken, or lamb cooked a long time until soft and served in spicy gravy.  Same with the vegetables - things like potatoes, carrots, red lentils, yellow lentils, some kind of greens.  Sometimes it's served with something sort of similar to cottage cheese.

It's spicy and flavorful, some of it can be pretty hot, but I imagine you can get it mild or they'll help guide you to the right dishes.

They have a honey wine (mead) called Tej that is typically home made.  Sweet but not too sweet, it tastes like it's fairly high in alcohol, it's pretty good.

Offhand I'd say if a person is an adventurous eater or liked Indian food they'd like it, although it's not the same at all (no curry, but just as spicy and flavorfull).

One of the local places here - for some reason there are a ton of them in a certain part of Oakland - has a plate of several vegetable dishes and a plate of several meat dishes, and we usually get that. Another good way to sample it is to find one that has a lunch buffet.

It does sound like a setup for a schoolyard joke in 1985, though.

Ethiopian Super Bowl comes to mind. (Eight-Nothing)  :-[

Thanks P*B. I'm going to give it a try. It sounds delicious, and I like the spiciness of curry so spicy isn't a problem.

I'm not remotely psychic but I saw this coming a mile away and knew it would be you, Eddie. Touche! You made me laugh out loud.

A profiler's dream. Even I sensed I'd have to be the first who went to the 1985 jokes upon seeing the word Eithiopian. I'm proud and ashamed all in one.

Open Letter to Paul McCartney:
Dear Paul,
You don't have to look like you did 50 years ago.
A little gray wouldn't be the end of the world,
and a pair of glasses may be just the ticket.
Let somebody else play the bass,
'cause bass players are a dime a dozen.
Just sit down behind the piano and write us some tunes,
about what its like to be 64
and beyond.
Thanks, pal.

p.s.  Damn you guys made a great team
