On the good side you can cook stuff on sidewalks, don't need to heat your pool, if dry can use swampcooler n save on A/C bills, or invest in ice and cold beer sales.

Trans fluid usually runs between 170º-225º Engine coolant temperatures of 220ºF are common. 114ºF isn't yet up to normal operating temperature for either fluid.

114ºF for an ambient air temperature, is brutal.    There is something to be said for the "dry heat" saying however.  Up here, we get 40ºC + but with high humidity that doesn't allow your sweat to evaporate.
Phoenix has a record high of 122ºF/50ºC with 31.6% average humidity during the same month.
London Canada has a record 106ºF/41.1ºC with average humidity of 59.1% for the same month.

Humidity doesn't affect things like hot car interiors that will burn you.  Places like Arizona will always higher straight temperatures. Humidity affects any living organism that relies on evaporative cooling. sweating/panting.

Hogs don't sweat, so they must be protected from heat in the Summer.  I remember misting down the sows with water when it got really hot out.
