Victoria banned all gun and ammunition sales today. Seemed rather vague on reasons beyond suggesting there'd been an increase in purchases lately, ignoring the fact that there was already extreme levels of gun control. Seems more like a lazy pr opportunity to get brownie points for the state government, but it probably won't just be temporary.

Brilliant. We will tell you what the truth is, and make it a criminal offense to disagree. How is this any different than China?

Despite the 'social distancing' and lock-down measures enforced on the citizens the politicians can meet and leverage this deadly, mankind ending outbreak to pass anti-freedom laws. Because a crisis should never be wasted.

Apparently criminals don't always believe in government mandated lock-downs.

"73-year-old Curtis Roys, was asleep when he heard a loud banging noise outside. He then discovered a young man on his back patio who, when confronted, pushed his way inside through the patio door and began to assault Roys with a blunt object. Reportedly, he then put Roys into a chokehold, causing him to lose consciousness. Deputies said Roys' fiancée, 65-year-old Melody Lumpkin pled several times for the man to stop assaulting him, but the man did not comply. She then retrieved a handgun from the bedroom and fired a warning shot, but deputies said the alleged intruder continued his assault.  When she noticed Roys was not moving, Lumpkin then reportedly fired another shot, striking the man in the head. When Roys regained consciousness, officials said they then called 911. The suspect was later identified as Cleto Neri Solorzano, 19, of Fredericksburg.

Cleto sounds like a nice youngman.  Probably just got lost and took a wrong turn off of I-10, after leaving church in Kerrville. Saturday night Easter services, no doubt.

I just like how the old guy got a younger girlfriend, sorry fiancée, who is not afraid to shoot and then the shot to the head and waiting to call 911 until he was conscious. I wonder if the 'warning shot' was shot after he regained consciousness? Hmmm.  Old guy should've been armed when he initially confronted the fine youngster but glad she had her wits together.

Trudeau banned all "military-grade" (whatever that means) "assault rifles" (whatever that means) due to the nutjob who killed 22 people including a RMCP officer and drove around shooting in a fake RMCP car he bought at auction. Obviously horrible event. CNN doesn't explain if the Canadian Congress voted or if the PM can just demand? Maybe under a Corona-Chan national crisis rules? RMCP says only one of the nutjob's guns was "traced to Canada" (cue....to Democrats ban US guns also....)

If I was an enterprising Canadian I would be establishing a net work to bootleg assault rifles into Canada to satisfy what is sure to be a continuing demand for them post ban.  It's not without risk but a number of family fortunes were built on bootlegging alcohol during prohibition including the Kennedy's.  Some will be sure to cash in on the ban and it will only result in the Government losing any sort of control over the sale of such weapons.

If Trudeau is using Australia as a model he will be disappointed in that Canada has thousands of miles of land border and a strong hunting tradition that surpasses most any other nation and Canadians have always had the freedom to use their weapons of choice within limitations on caliber, firing rate etc.  I believe the ban will prove ineffective and will ultimately bite its liberal advocates in the ass as it did in the U.S.

Yeah, what about them?   Does the Buntline Special with attachable stock qualify as an assault weapon.  Looks pretty dangerous to me especially if used to pistol whip.

Heh, that's what kills me about all this Bravo Sierra.  Just like Corona Chan, the F'n commies love to use the fear factor on the sheeple.  "Ack!  It looks SCARY!  Please, nanny dictator state, make it go away!"

Thank yeewwww
Key words 'LOOKS SCARY".  I can take any sort of rifle, paint it pink, and then proceed to kill more people than many assault rifle'like weapons could.

I thought we weren't supposed to "judge a book by it's cover"?

Let's punish the law abiding citizens for the actions of criminals.  That's rational.

I never thought i would be able to own a Vityaz after Obama banned all Russian AK's from import. There were early Rumors that Kalashnikov Concern was going to assist Kalashnikov USA in building authentic copy's of them here but most figured at best we would get cheaply made versions or vaporware. Well now they are here and they look well made. Teh price is a bit steep but now the only question left is Pistol version with wrist brace or 16" barrel and triangle folder?
