Have you contacted your local afilliate?

Wondering if anyone has contacted their local radio station to express their displeasure with the Nooron. What was your feedback?

I don't think local affiliates have much control over the situation.  In many cases, they only carry Coast to Coast because they have to in order to get Rush Limbaugh as part of the package deal offered from Premiere Radio.

I submit to you the following post.

Thanks for linking to your previous post, MV.  It really does explain everything and validates what I've been thinking for sometime about the "package deals."

I kept wondering why they would keep someone like Noory on the air, when he's obviously not qualified to host C2C, and since I've worked in some facets of the entertainment industry as a writer, I'm familar with this process to an extent, and wondered if perhaps the reason for Noory to continue wasn't because of something like this.  Now I know that chances are this is exactly why.  If so, we may be stuck with Noory, as well as less than stellar topics, for some time to come - whether we like it or not.

The old days of radio are gone.  These days, it's not at all about the listening audience, but all about the power at the top instead.

i think the best era of radio (at least in my 30 year lifetime) was in the late 90s.  rush was still fresh and exciting, art was at the top of his game, and phil hendrie was still interested in making people laugh.  people were still allowed to say offensive things on the radio, and it wasn't yet as consolidated as it is today.  radio was just better.

Except for the technology at the time, I believe that alot of things were at a great peak in the mid to late 90s...
God I feel like a geezer saying that.

My local affiliate radio station burned down.  Sometimes at night I can get Albuquerque, Reno, or LA to hear Coast on my CC radio with a free-standing CC antenna.  Otherwise, I have to sit at my computer to listen.  Hopefully, the station is rebuilding.  It wasn't wonderful, however, and sometimes got drowned out by a powerful Mexican station.

I suppose Dr. Laura is part of the Premiere Radio package, too.  YUCK!

999, I don't watch TV anymore, either.  Someone needs to tell me (and then remind me) if something "good" is on.

We're about the same age. I'm a relative latecomer to Coast, as I discovered it several years back. My work schedule changed, and I was so pleased and surprised to find a program about the paranormal that aired late at night. I found the show by accident on the car radio while perusing the vampire shift offerings. I didn't listen to AM or late-night fare before my hours turned topsy-turvy. During the last six months, I've been skipping many of the shows. The topics haven't appealed to me. BTW, it seems like Noory was better when I first heard him.

we need to get a copy of noory's first coast appearance and post it here.  i'll host it on the server for eternal download if someone will shoot me a copy.

I recall Noory being better when he first started as well, Supernormal. I asked if anyone else shared the same recollection in another thread on here.

But yeah, MV, it would be a good idea to get some early shows and listen again.
I think he was okay (or just much better) for the first year or two. Of course, we still had Art taking over every weekend (and the small hope that he was going to come out of retirement again) which may account for my or anyone else's favorable memory.
Now we are all jaded and dismayed at the prospect of Noory's indefinite reign.

It's good to hear that other people noticed that. It seems like the callers were better in the past too. MV's idea to compare and contrast the shows is one that would help us to answer a lot of questions about just when things went so wrong. I think that the ouija board program marked a turning point.
