Oh...OK...I just hadn't heard that term in awhile. I usually hear it referred to as a "hand job" in modern vernacular.  :D

"Old Fashion'd" in these parts:

mm, so sad...

Hated hearing the news about Bill Paxton.

RIP Mr Paxton, he got to work with Helen Hunt back in the "Twister" days when she sported that white tank top.

Post op stroke, seems way too common these days, that's what got my Father even though he was on a shit ton of anti coagulants.

RIP Nicole Bass at 52.

Will miss that deep assed voice on Howard Stern. I remember her from her WWE(WWF at that time) days as well.  Those were the days when Vince was able to get his employees the good anabolics and growth hormone.

Bill Paxton was one of those actors that was always reliable to make even the worst movie palatable with his skill.

We get to see a posthumous performance in the upcoming talking picture  "The Circle".

Too bad, RIP. I don't like the new guy at TCM nearly so much. I wasn't aware he was in the Hillbillies' pilot. That was a hilarious show.

Nice tribute. Interestingly it would appear that TCM and his death, at least, can bring the country together- for a while at least. I saw the "reactionary, right-wing" web site WND also had posted this tribute. It seems people of all political stripes and fringes enjoyed him and his commentary on great movies. RIP

I've been out of the loop. Just heard about this.  Very sad about this but not totally unexpected.  His health seemed fragile the last few times I saw him.  I don't watch much TCM during primetime. Usually the wife controls the tv during those hours and we watch more modern  fare.  Anyway, what a classy guy as someone else said.  Not sure if Mankiewicz can fill his shoes.  His participation in the Young Turks is a negative.  I like Ben but when I found out he was in the Turks with Smenk or whatever his name is,  I was deeply disappointed. Need someone that is apolitical to be the lead presenter on TCM.  Just my feelings.  RIP, Robert.

And, yes, Tigerlily, thank you for posting this..

MV/Liberace!

Oh, man.  Is this ever heartbreaking.  RIP Bodza. A truly worthy "celebrity."  :'(

Kyle also revealed he bought Bodza a final treat from McDonald's before the emotional farewell.

He added: "He got a Big Mac. He didn’t leave a crumb."

We are saddened by the news that Lawrence Montaigne passed away today.
Lawrence guest starred in two classic Star Trek episodes, as Decius in "Balance of Terror" and Stonn in "Amok Time." Lawrence was a regular at conventions and was a fan favorite. He will be missed at the Vegas Con. Our prayers are with his family and friends.
