Best Spec Sheet tech advice, ever: "Whistle into your phone."

The General

There are always so many gems in these shows just waiting to be isolated into 5 second audio clips...
"I didn't die in the Civil War- I'm Michael Vandeven."

Also the rant about accents from India was priceless.
And Curtis's reaction: "But you're OK with Pakistani accents, right?"

Always one of the most entertaining shows on the whole internet.

The General

Forcing Vlad from Romania to sing a little Celine Dion was also a nice touch.
And it sounds like he's actually a great singer!
Just what we need for our internet band.

We really need to put together a video of us playing some ABBA or Jigsaw or something.

Any time. I totally have the setup for it now.

And by the way... thanks for giving a crap about our podcast. The fact that YOU like it tells me we are definitely doing something right.

well you are better than the noory to noory am show. well that aint saying much.
how about i often turn art bell reruns off to listen to your reruns . esp when u7 goes  into a holding pattern.
if your show sucked i wouldnt have called in, i havent called a show in 14 years .

i have a MCSE,MCP and have used linux since 1999.
ive been playing with these things since 1977. my 1st program was a pong game on a odyssey II in 1977. a whopping 256 bytes of memory. i didnt pursue programming, to my detriment, and i am learning some basic bash/python/perl/etc as i see fit.btw Mac osx supports all of those out of the box ,as is a BSD derivative (tons of freebsd code in mac osx).

Curtis, is your tablet for sale?

Wait ... did I fail to get a memo?  Have our corporate overlords been informed?

Also ... who the hell is that under the desk?

It could be me if Gabcast is wound down.

I support any podcast that has the raging anti-Microsoft sentiment I heard in the first ten minutes of the last Spec Sheet.  Please proceed!

So long, net neutrality? FCC to propose new pay-for-preferential treatment rules

Net neutrality activists are up in arms over a set of proposed rules that would give broadband providers the green light to charge companies a premium for access to faster Internet access.

You Have a Voice

If the FCC's proposal ticks you off, you'll have a chance to voice your concern. The FCC will circulate the propose on Thursday followed by a vote to move forward with the proposal at its May 15 meeting. In the meantime, you can write, call, or email your local representatives to let them know how you feel about the proposal. You can also add your name to a petition that's already over 1 million signatures long.

The FCC Chairman is a guy named Thomas Wheeler.  He was nominated and confirmed by the US Senate November 2013.  Prior to that he was a lobbyist for the cable and wireless industry.  Before that he's been President of the National Cable TV Association, and CEO of the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association.

He's an industry stooge.  Surprise surprise.

So much for net neutrality

First Obama says he is giving away US control of the internet, now this.
