Quote from: Rix Gins on August 25, 2022, 02:09:29 PMOh good, I was hoping that he did a show, especially on the first night of 9/11.  That network coverage I spoke of was abominable.  Three straight nights of boo-hooing, we are such victims, what did we do to deserve this?  I was near to pulling my hair out.
There were several days discussing 9/11. Start here.

Art was wonderful on 9/11. He canceled all his guests, I think for the whole week, and took calls from very upset people.  He did what he did best - pull stories from people and helped them share their anger and grief.  It was gripping radio.

A big yep! Also with OKC and TWA 800. And some hurricanes etc. Callers aplenty and live reports, grief/anger, and speculations. And his commentaries/opinions. And updates from 'official sources' with more callers and commentary and callers. Great radio!

Thank you.  That sounds very familiar, I'm guessing that Art replayed it on certain 9/11 anniversaries.  His voice sounds so powerful, no sign of the COPD that would slow him down somewhat, in the years to come.

No prob. Art in his prime was best. On a long drive I put on a decades old Bruce Williams for a change. Listening to him admonish not to go into a dry-cleaning business with a brother-in-law got me through to a Luv's and nasty coffee at 3am but fun conversations in line. Truckers are smart. Haha. Asked me even nicely to move my car. Some weird gassing up and/or putting gas in. Or stealing. Idk, or cared.

Quote from: Mind Flayer Monk on May 02, 2012, 10:49:00 PMI have about 25-30 gallons of water on hand (half full rain water barrels for the garden) .

In a pinch I would probably try to scrounge 71 gallons out of the water heater. Is that stuff potable?

I actually have lots of canned food-just a coincidence though. I am not really stocking for the coming apocalypse.

Michael, remember this post, when you take over the world I want to be in charge of Australia.

Quote from: morphiaflow on May 16, 2011, 09:18:47 PMJohn Titor has just sent me a message from page 135 of this thread. He told me that around page 111 there will be a giant war amongst posters which will split the forum in two, and that he has come back to this page to get the posts needed to allow it to survive to page 150 and beyond. However, we may not actually SEE those posts, since in the act of coming back here, he has changed the timeline. So SOME of those things may occur in OUR timeline, or they may NOT. But sadly he can never truly go back home.

I set him up with a 12 pack and some hookers. Hope that'll at least keep him happy.

I'll bet morphiaflow wishes he were in a different timeline.

Quote from: Art is the Best on May 03, 2008, 05:17:41 AMIs it illegal to overthrow the government in America? I seem to recall that one of our forefathers, which one I have no idea, said if the government sucks you should get rid of it. I'm paraphrasing. So doesn't that mean it shouldn't be illegal?

Quote from: EvB on May 03, 2008, 05:42:01 PMIn theory, yes - though the "how" matters.    In practice it's a bit like that very old joke:

I can see why he was trying to find a way out of this timeline.

Apparently he was caught with 9000 child porn images.

Hopefully he'll never get out of jail or hopped into a timeline with worse punishments than we have in this one.
