He must be a tad insecure to always have to bring up how many Facebook friends he has.

If there was an enemies list feature on facebook, I'm sure that would be quite impressive as well.

His voice, I can't take his voice anymore, it sounds like he's got a slab of butter stuffed up his nose.  Can a voice smirk?  Seems like his does.
About 5 minutes is all I can take, which is actually good, because now I'm reading more.

I think, at the least, he enjoys what he does.  That tends to come through in the broadcasts.

The alien thing seems to have hit a wall, so why not former Nazi scientist exiled in Argentina being the guys behind the "UFO" at Roswel.?   I also enjoyed the Antwerp diamond heist show, especially the "irony on a cosmic scale" in reference to the meaning of the word "Antwerp" and it's connection to the diamond industry.  Charles Pelligino gets called back to answer for a few controversies concerning his book, "Last Train from Hiroshima".  A fairly harmless obsession with Facebook.  A relatively funny line  concerning George's Presidential run, and, all in all, a decent past few weekends with Ian on the mic, unpacking his guest, and standing up for Farrah Fawcett.

Remy Stern taking about infomercials.  Pretty interesting, actually.  I was shocked to hear the video professor is scamming people, so I did a little google and heck if it ain't true.  Here's a link to a bunch of complaints about that old coot:  http://www.consumeraffairs.com/education/video_professor.html
     Just can't trust anyone.
     Nice work, Ian.

wow.  i read some of the complaints on that page.  did you see the one from the woman whose account was debited for like $400 or something and now she can't pay rent?  HELLO, PEOPLE:  FILE A CLAIM WITH VISA!!!  duh.  i shouldn't be so condescending, though.  i guess a lot of people aren't aware of the options afforded them.

Yes I like Ian.  Although I don't always agree with what he has to say, he does carry on intelligent conversations and interviews.  Also I just, plain old, like the sound of his voice.

George H.W Bush at Dealey Plaza on Nov. 22 1963?  Involved in Watergate?  Part on a secret hidden agenda to controll the world and still managed to loose an election to a hillbilly from Arkansas?  Yep.  That and a whole lot more from Russ Baker, who also managed to take a few jabs at Bush 43, who seems to be getting blamed for just about everything these days.  No respect. Whatever.  Good job, Ian.

Bill Clinton was hardly a hillbilly.

I once worked with a fellow that worked for Video Professor.  He told me it was the worst companies he worked for.  They treated customers and employees like total crap.  He also told me about all the underhanded tactics V. Professor used to get money out of their customers mentioned on Saturday night.

As you can see by my screen name, I, too, am a midwesterner!  Giddup! .....

I agree that Ian is well prepared and bright.  His questions are, like Knapp's, insightful and compelling.  I like Ian.....smugness and all......and I REALLY enjoy Knapp.

Does GN "get it"....????  Does he know what people think of him?????

Like most people, GN picks and chooses what feedback he thinks is worth listening to.

UNlike most intelligent people, he calls people who disagree with him "haters" and condescends to his "fans" (I'll be here when you are alone on the holidays - you looser you")

No, he does not get it.

This is just a feeler to ask if i'm the only person who despises Ian Punt It... He seems to me to be an awkward high school boy auditioning for the high school radio show that only goes as far as the local community... Any thoughts? Anyone... Anyone...  ???

Run across this thread browsing the internet and thought maybe I'd put my two cents in. Love C2C.

Really dont like Ian punnit anymore. He will shut up guests who have a differing viewpoint than him like he recently did with John Perkins the Economic hitman. Hey you may not agree with him but you dont censor him. This is C2C. The last bastion of freedom of opinion so long as it isnt presenting a clear and present danger.

That and other things he's done really made me lose all respect for him. He's annoying.

George Knapp is good.

I got a little tired of Ian's continuous whining about how those insurgents and AP correspondents were so brutally killed by a US gunship captured on video.  Former soldier and writer David Bellavia did a good job defending our troops and explaining to Ian that war is hell, and if you're a journalist hanging out with guys who want to kill Americans, don't be surprised if you wind up dead.
I'm beginning to think Ian is a liberal.

like this has anything to do with the paranormal, just turn the dial and you'll find lot's of non-liberals, if that's what is important to you

You know, I have to agree with you.  Unless one can characterize that interview as para-normal.

The "liberal" comment was facetious.  Part of what makes Ian the best c2c host outside of Art is that he avoids traveling that same old road that has now become a highway of scam artist, con men, snake oil salesmen, screwballs and liars.  He has no interest in rehashing that crap because he knows Noory does it all week.  If Ian were to take Noory's job he would have to do more shows on UFOs and Planet X, but he's going to take these people to task and those that are credible will survive, and the shysters will know to stay away, and listeners will be the better off with actual give and take between host and guest.  Heck, even Art seems to be stuck on physics recently.  He knows Noory has beaten that paranormal horse silly and there there ain't many more tricks that horse can do.

I like Ian. I find his "eh's" and stutters between thoughts endearing. I know he is intelligent and actually researches the material unlike that bore Noory.

I utterly despise Noory and will not listen to C2C when he hosts. Too bad Whitley Stireber wasn't selected as thehost of C2C. He was a natural.

valdez

Oh the joy of tuning in expecting to hear another barely bearable show by GN, and instead it is voice of Ian Punnett with a damn good show about...Hoarding.  As in house full of crap hoarding.  Yeah.  Cool.

valdez

...And then he follows it up with a show about the French Foreign Legion (Adrian Gilbert).  Stuff you always knew you wanted to know more about, but you didn't really know you knew you wanted to know more.  Sort of.  I guess.

This is just a cursory assessment, but has Ian taken a decidedly non-paranormal path with his shows?  He seems to be replacing preternaturalism with mundane, esoteric topics.

Don't like Ian anymore and his guests leave much to be desired.......any host other then Noory would be good, even a rock, never, ever listen to him, thank goodness Art does a show live once in a while and Knapp rocks, looking forward to his show tonight. :)

I'd vote for this line up:

Mon/Wed/Fri ...... Ian
Tue/Thurs .......... Knapp
Sat ................... Art Bell
Sun .................. Snoory (assuming he has to be somewhere in the line up)

Actually, I'd like Art all week but I'd also like to win the PowerBall lottery. The odds are about the same. ;)

But back in the real world, doesn't Snoory have a contract that runs through 2012?

valdez

At one point during Les Leopold's (The Looting of America) rant he stated that his ideas and solutions for fixing the mess we are currently in was "not socialism".  Rest assured it was.  So much so that Ian had to take a stand and declare that capitalism was the best and only way forward.  Kind of.  Ian believes in a "moral capitalism" that eliminates the "every man for himself" ethic.  Nice ideal, but I'm not sure that's possible.  Ian also beat up on Ayn Rand.  One day I'm gonna have to read that book.

Unless 2013 follows 2011, I'm pretty sure 2012 is coming.

Just heard George refer to the New York car bomb as a bomb car.  ;D Well, okay. I guess you could kinda say it was a bomb car.  :D

valdez

Simple, sincere, disturbing, with a little bit of hope.  "Recovering skinhead"  Frank Meeink.  Ian sure can pick 'em, sometimes.

KnyeGuy

Yes...Ian Sucks...Just my opinion, but I don't think he is a good fit for C2C. Sure he has some good shows and he kicks ass over Noory (who doesn't?) but his personality is annoying. He's smarmy and tries to be funny FAR too often.
C2C isn't the place for cheesy comic relief...especially when it's CONSTANT cheesy jocularity the whole F***ing show with him.
He's well suited for radio in his own way, but not for Coast.

I will tune in when I can if Ian's on, but for quite awhile now he's been getting on my nerves exponentially.
