But that is not what I want either.  6 guys to take the Trumpet guy down.  Then they have to take him to the station, a bunch bureaucrats have to push a bunch of papers.  Then he goes to the cooler, gets cleaned up, fed healthy meals, givenclean clothes and probably some medic type checks him out and tries to determine why he is in a pyschotic rage because his chewing gum has lost its flavor.  So then he gets free Diazinon or whatever. There are attorneys and district attorneys and bailiffs and who knows what else.  It's a whole huge industry.  Baron and Konig knocking they guy down while worrying his throat and a couple of love taps from the Ray O Vac in the ribs. A chilling warning that you haven't seen the half of it, if you fuck up again and the problem is solved.  Likely forever. On the cheap.  Couple of Scooby Snacks solves the issue.

That is the same casual violence at the officer's discretion that makes albrecht all warm and fuzzy.  No argument that, from the perspective of a law-abiding citizen, it is efficient and effective in the hands of principled men like your grandfather.  I don't think society is willing to pay the human cost in mistakes, incompetence, and abuse in less-capable or malicious hands that necessarily follows from it which is why we have been steadily chipping away at officer discretion for at least the past half-century, since we aren't fortunate enough to be governed always by angels.

QuoteBut what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. -- Federalist 51

Didn't you hear, Chaz is over!  :(  I had to go home and take a shower but I got pockets of Sorosbux and a bit part in Raz's next music video as the token vegan soiboi cuck everyone beats up.  It was quite a believable performance if I do say so myself, some consolation for the Whole Foods cheese counter raid I led which had to retreat after we went the wrong way down the aisle and some capitalist wage-slave bitch made a frowny face at us.

I was just messing with you.  Him being Chief, Ray O Vac justice and the Doberman's were quite real.  The rest of story is that it was a small town outside of the city and his salary was a whopping $1 a year.  He was asked to do the gig because he had the dogs and knew how to handle them properly.

Really wasn't much enforcing to be done. He had a few good stories - one was the Romanian Widow.  It being the depression and her being a widow, she ran a boarding house.  Mostly respectable dudes would stay there but there are always a few crumb bums about.  She had a creep once, he came downstairs when she was alone in the kitchen and exposed his member to her.  She smiled, gave him a wink and beckoned him to come closer.  He did so and *WHAM*.  She kept a hunk of cut off garden hose near - with the big old fashioned metal nozzle on it.   Laid the creep out.  Then she ran out of the house yelling "Help! Police! Rape!  Poor Widow Me! Oh Dear Lord!"  So Gramps drug the guy away. Month later exact same thing - he had to make her promise just to call next time and to stop bashing guys heads in.

Hey sometimes, like when dealing with clearly mentally ill people, an officer can use discretion and 'deescalate.' Other times, like in dealing with hardened criminals and undesirables, might call for blackjacks, billyclubs, and such.

Shit man you made me pull out the Federalist Papers!  I got a trumpet with your name on it, bucko, and some super sassy tights.  Give me credit, though; at least it wasn't some neomarxist crap.

So the widow let the creep back in the house?  Yikes.

If I were that cop I would have also "excused her boarding house reach."  Ha, funny story.

You get full credit Sir.  Most impressive.  Different creep - same split skull.  Does bring another Romanian Widow story to mind but it is way off topic for this thread.

Well now you have to tell it.  Luckily I am honored by my own, named thread here https://bellgab.com/index.php?topic=13010.0 where we can discuss anything without being set upon by vicious dogs and bludgeoned with a flashlight by the topic police.

I have changed my mind on billyclubs as long as he is seven feet tall, not at all a porker, and might be kind of cute under the mask.

Well we'll take it there then.  Need to grab a Hamm's and then lets take a trip back into the 1930's.................

Ok thread, I guess the real question is where do we go from Burning Elk?    I'm kind of at a loss.

I guess we can just enjoy this for the time being.

From the linked Portland Police Bureau story

QuoteThe fire damaged the stone surrounding the basin around and beneath the elk statue. The Regional Arts Council has determined the damage to the base is so severe, the statue has to be removed for public safety reasons. There is concern the elk statue could topple over and injure someone.

He also a gentle soul who loves gardens and dogs and little baby birds *swoon*

I just can't believe that he would show such brazen "white privilege." I mean, only a white man can piss in a bottle and toss it.  ::)

“I stood next to him today & he decided to p** into a plastic bottle & tossed it over the barricade at the police. When we called him out for using his privilege as a white man to antagonise the situation he said he ‘doesn’t identify as white’.”

*Exactly what is not about race in today's world?

Here it is mostly a handful of white folks throwing bottles that get hundreds of people tear-gassed and the black folks in charge try to keep them under control in exactly that manner.  Last night at the mayor's house it was white folks climbing the fences and the black leaders calling them back.  It's silly but it's true.

In other news, Trumpet Man is free tonight with all charges dropped!  More piss bottles incoming...

I've now watched enough live streams to have realized that (at least late at night) it is usually around 80% white and 20% black. I am under no illusions that the majority of white protesters are out there for "black lives." It makes a good cover- and it makes their actions more acceptable when you frame them as condemning slavery and the modern day disparity observed in races.

I believe that most of them are there for their own set of beliefs and a wish for societal change- but I do not think that their top priority is how to help their black brothers. The video I posted of Ngo getting hit last year had nothing to do with race (at least on the surface), yet these same people were out there confronting the police and marching for a political ideology. And now they are back on the street because of... "Say his name...."

*Were you waiting for Trumpet man at the door of the precinct?  ;)

Oh good you are looking -- watch for me!  I should be easy to spot: I have a black hoodie and a black mask and black skinny jeans and black converse and a hot shirtless trumpet viking.

The joke here is same people, different signs.  It was fun to see Seattle get some attention for basically just being Seattle and watch people like Fox churn national fear porn out of it.  That seems to be Ngo's shtick but it was really surprising to see Tucky (who I usually like) fall for it, too.  It is an election year and we are being herded into our separate camps.  I am Antifa -- Boo!  :P

Yes the downtown retail is still all boarded up, and for the first time I can remember a couple suburban malls were hit in the initial riots after George Floyd's death.  That is a new problem for Seattle but how you make a national threat coming to a town near you out of it, or tie it to any ideology other than opportunistic greed, escapes me.  Unless you want to say Antifa is funded by selling stolen Nikes on ebay, I suppose, but I thought Soros had that covered.

As for the murders, look at the ages and race of the people shot and see if you can get any kind of national political significance out of it.  They are tragic but not at all surprising.

Uh guys.

Might want to shelve the political crap for a bit.  There are bigger issues.  Look at this bastard!

::)  At its height Chaz was occupied by fewer people than attend the Big Seattle Boat Show.  Now it is a hundred people blocking a single intersection in the middle of the night.  Send the Marines!

I see how it is.  We won't deal with the picture of the Senda-Sized bat, then now will we?  I can play that game as well.

Free the real Chaz residents from their oppressors.

As for the Doc.  We all know where he will end up.

Excellent news Kay-Dee!

You and he should do a duet to celebrate, I reccomend this:

https://hermonmehari.bandcamp.com/track/a-conversation-with-my-uncle

I am sure you could knock together some dis-chordian accordion fingerings to make a truly awesome cover of that song.  Please record & share it if y'all do.

Best wishes,

-p

ediot:  record forsooth!  FILM this collaboration for posterity.  Maybe get Herman to do the vocals, since you all will have hands/mouths full doing other things.
