Why isn't that officer speaking correctly?. He doesn't say shiv, or fore, aft, starboard, port.. This irritates the mermaid.

If it floats.  If it is painted gray and if it has an Indian flag on it, it's at sea:

The Chinese are in trouble, first it was the Indian Navy, now it's the Ecuadorians.

The old Malachi Crunch Duke?   The Indians cut them off from their oil in the Middle East and resources from Africa and Ecuador cuts off some their food?   On top of the floods and locusts they are fighting.

It was a squeeze like this applied to Japan over its occupation of Manchuria that eventually led to the oil embargo that precipitated its attack on Pearl Harbor.  Interesting times we live in.

Yep.  Well they have scores to settle with Japan and South Korea and want to bring Taiwan back into the fold.  Plus Oz and SE Asia and Siberia are just sitting there.

Old Rock of Ages, we've got ourselves another war. A gut bustin', mother-lovin' Navy war.

Great picture here    Too good for SMF's crappy rendering.

That looks like an establishing shot from The Usual Suspects. Except better.

If Ecuador brought this to the OAS and asked for military assistance, I wonder if any nation would send warships or maritime patrol aircraft?  Also no indication if there are any naval/escort vessels with the Chinese fishing fleet.

How many nations remember how to spell "Julian Assange"?

You got me! I have zero experience in Naval Military Operations. *unless you count my civilian training at certain bases... But I have maritime experience and have worked closely with Coast Guard and Naval Captains and Pilots. I still think he sounded funny not using maritime terminology.

I hear those chinese fish are harder to catch. But I am a picky mermaid, I only like Szeschwan.

Here‘s the “Bonny Dick” that I remember.  She was in service until 1989.

If/when rail guns become operational in the fleet in any number it will be a game changer.  Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, VA mentioned in the video is where I worked as a civilian post Navy.

Don't call us. We'll call you.

SSGN USS Georgia has entered the Persian Gulf, thus plopping 150+ cruise missiles in Iran's front yard. If I recall correctly, she's rather a hard luck boat and has had a string of weird mishaps during her service life. That gulf is tight and crowded - hopefully someone brought a rabbit's foot along.
