I have been in money market for awhile now. I'm fine. I just convinced my mother on Thursday to move into 100% fixed income and money market. I have never offered her advice- and I was loath to do so. The market is resting at "support" levels. They are roughly where they were in 2013 / 2014.

However, I asked her to look at how things are. If they were like this in 2014, would she invest? She is also quite risk adverse, and can "jump in" when there are signs of a recovery. She can also look at asset classes. It gives her breathing room without having to look for the next few months. She lost 8%- but knows that she will not lose any more.

Yes, there is still a blood bath coming. I could be wrong (and if I am, it is your job as a Bellgabber to remind me that I "cost" my mother profits with bad advice.) I just will not be looking at stocks for a few months. Yesterday Telus (major Canadian telecommunications stock) fell another 50%. One of our guys came to my office telling me "strong buy." It is now at an 11% dividend. Still, I will wait. This is going to be ugly (or it will be hyperinflation.)

***On a side note, my bitcoin and litecoin are not doing so hot right now... But I "mined" them years ago and they were "free."

The stock market was showing signs of trouble/crashing back in September, 2019 before COVID-19. The Fed injected over $320 billion trying to keep the repo market alive, before COVID-19.

Meanwhile COVID-19 will only expedite & compound a problem that was already looming on the horizon. The 2008 crash could look quaint in comparison. The Boom-Bust market will try to blame this pump & dumb solely upon COVID-19. Don't let them get away with it.
