According to this admittedly sketchy source, Beijing is on lock down now:  https://news.ltn.com.tw/news/world/breakingnews/3062946

I thought Shanghai would go down first...................

Seems like this might be B.S.  Just talked with some folks there and they say it ain't so.

Seems like Singapore is doing the same

Well both countries very authoritarian and folks used to top-down control. But taking "chalets" in capitalist Singapore?!

2 plane loads of Canadians have arrived at Canadian Forces Base(SCB) Trenton, the 2 flights carrying 276 and 39 Canadians home from Wuhang China.
They get to stay in rooms for 2 weeks, they have all their needs taken care for, high speed internet and even food.
Families will be housed together.  The military redid some rooms to accommodate family units. They are to be quarantined for 14 days before heading to Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal for flights home.

Glad to see they won't have to worry about BellGab Withdrawal Syndrome (BWS).

Praise Lee.

I wouldn't wish BWS on my worse enemy.  Horrible.

Is this latest Corona virus something that can survive on 'things?' I notice BB, Walmart, etc suddenly has HDTVs very cheap! Frankly too big for a normal house but good for outside. What about door knobs, all the Chinese crap shipped over here, the airplanes and vessels to/from the region, and so on? Capt Sweeney, ahoy, mentioned that the US no longer inspects ships for disease or quarantine prior to docking. Also I know that most rely on foreign workers, usually a variety of Oriental, for manning, even the rare ones that still are flagged in the US. And I know that often containers are "expressed" through any- even cursory- customs check.  Heck the Chi-coms even control some ports, essentially.

Sure it can.  Check out this old boy - he is sharing the love:

Question is for how long?  I've seen claims of anywhere from a few hours to several weeks.  This German dude says 4-5 days.
S.R. above has a 9 day estimate so who knows?

If you were planning on getting that TV and can afford - I'd go ahead.  Seems like there are bound to be some disruptions:

You been doing any Coronacaust preps?    Swung by Bass Pro today and picked up some more .45 ACP rounds and then a case of Hamm's.

As I always say "lead more important than gold or silver" if SHTF. Stocked up on bleach, Lysol, muriatic acid, ammonia, Oxy powder, pool Ph stuff, etc. Just don't mix together. Ha. But like "options" for sterilizarion protocols or...clean up. Canned goods, like Hamm's, Spam, n sardines always a wise choice. High proof vodka, or Everclear, is good. Long storage. Useful as wound cleansing or make-shift pain killer. Can be used an offensive weapon also as last resort.

I'm kidding.  ;)

Looks like the MS Westerdam got denied by Thailand at the last minute.   AFAIK Hong Kong, Guam, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines had all given them the boot earlier.

Firearms and alcohol.  What could go wrong?

I want a Lindsey Williams, Rev, update. Scallion and BOTH Deyos. Would be nice if Kathleen Keating came back and a few Skouskens also- on a LMH and RCH emergency panel discussion. With Quayle follow up, and with live from Fed Pen SDM. MAYBE, i'd be satisfied about this info and disease. A shaman might be helpful also. Any "elks"or "ghostwolves" around anymore? What is Hopi or Antman view of this deal?

I suggest sailing towards Somalia. Might find, or forced, to port there. It is like a bad movie. Max Van Sydnow did one about the Joo one, I think.  And more recent zombie n plague shows did the ship deal. I also recall a George Kennedy movie about a NAZI ship b-movie? Cruises are bad enough but forced out of ports? No booze or buffets? Trapped in rooms? Denied docking?

The worst part of the tweet is that I was actually wondering for a split second if it came from a government official. The man really is so deranged and ignorant that I thought it possible for those to be his beliefs.  :(

I know buffets are out of the question... But certainly being trapped on a cruise ship should come with the "unlimited booze" option thrown in for your inconvenience?

P.S. I'm still holding my own against the hordes of infected. I find that if I shoot and kill one or two per day that they maintain the 100 yard buffer zone around my house that I have set up. Water and ammo supplies are still good, and I expect to live through this outbreak...

P.S.  Glad you still live.  Post more often.  The thread was worried about you now that the situation has moved from grave to very grave.

Virus storytellers challenge China’s official narrative
By JOHN LEICESTER and DAKE KANG
today

Chen Qiushi looked haggard and disheveled in his online posts, an almost unrecognizable shadow of the energetic young man who had rolled into Wuhan on a self-assigned mission to tell its inhabitants’ stories, just as authorities locked the city down almost three weeks ago.

Until he disappeared last week, the 34-year-old lawyer-turned-video blogger was one of the most visible pioneers in a small but dogged movement that is defying the ruling Communist Party’s tightly policed monopoly on information.
