I've read there is approximately "up to" an 18% chance of death if you're not in good health to begin with and it's somewhat compromised. Especially, vulnerable populations, for example, would be the elderly or someone with a chronic disease condition like COPD, etc.

Anyone living with any sort of health issue can increase rates of death.  Advanced age, basic age, being over weight, diabetes, COPD, HIV/AIDS, the flu, recent surgery, addiction issues(drinking, smoking, drugs).  Pretty much the same population that SHOULD be getting flu shots.
