At this point in the impeachment hearing the Defense Team has made a compelling case that the articles of impeachment have no basis in law, historical precedent or the Constititution and if successful would set the stage for untold political mayhem and virtual disempowerment of the Executive.  The articles should be dismissed on this alone but the Team has also shown the Dems to be shameless liars, ruthless character assassins and god-awful hypocrites as illustrated by the video clips shown of these same democrats making the identical arguments made by the Defense Team with respect to Clinton's Impeachment. 

Any Senate democrat or republican never-Trumper who thinks there is something to be gained by prolonging this fiasco is an idiot.  As I write this, Schiff and other D's are trying to spin today's proceedings as something other than a total disaster for them and their arguments are getting more and more feeble. It won't go well for them.  Fot that reason, I'm for calling witnesses.

In today’s hearing at about 3:05 PM Graham and Cruz set up the Dems by submitting a theoretical question for House Managers  concerning use of foreign powers to damage a presidential candidacy.  In condemning the practice in his response Schiff exactly described what the Obama Administration did to Trump.  As anyone could have foreseen, at around 3:40 Sekulow got up and hit that high and outside hanging curve into the parking lot.  They bet on Schiff answering the question exactly like he did.  Brilliant!!!

Congress defectively impeached the President, but without charging him of any crime.
Pelosi says that Trump can't be acquitted without a trial, and she's right about that.  The Senate can't acquit without a trial, but they can dismiss the case, and impeachment falls short of proving guilt without a trial by Senate.  We'll see what terminology ultimately is used for closing the case.

The official LDS says the "White Horse Prophecy" is, basically, bunk. But the lady doth protest too much, methinks- because Smith and some of the "prophets" said and wrote some pretty wild stuff. He would've fit in just fine on SW or late night AM radio, even today. So the official LDS has denounced it decades ago. However I seem to recall that Romney was connected with some of those families who fled to the Hills, Canada, and Mexico and hold to the more hardcore, older LDS beliefs, so maybe he still believes in it and this vote is helping to "save the Constitution?"
