I wondered about that.  In the 1980s, I participated in person in market research, and shortly after that the product we tested hit the market, where it has remained (curly fries .

Not sure what you mean by medicine?  Lots of ways to cure anxiety, though.

So, baaically, it costs A LOT, to develop a drug. So there is an incentive to figure out all options. This can be good, or bad. Off-Label use is a wink-wink-nudge-nudge that encourages Docs to prescribe an approved drug for something not approved or proven. Arguably, in some cases, ok. But also can be bad and goes around laws/process (which can be argued flawed.) Also one looks to anything that might benefit. I seem to recall, could be wrong.remembering, that Viagra was at first trying for something else but not effectigd but side-effect determined more $.

Yes, Viagra is prescribed for pulmonary hypertension.

Well Alby, in any case, the researcher is a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, so she has more of a counseling angle, like behavior modification therapy.  This easy little public study is all talk, no pills!

These (((psychologists))) are all the same

More importantly their relatives, such as Bernays. Apply manipulation to commerce and politics. And, lest we forget, their "contribution" to communism and all those deaths.

What they do is wrong.  They give babies herpes for life.  Have they done jail time yet?  Sickos.  Not even wearing gloves to protect a newborn with an open wound, either.

Often these studies, regardless of "tribe" or not, are blinded to participants and, if more legit, to the operators themselves. Often the pitch is not what it is. And often use cheap subjects (college, homeless, prison, etc) for the test sample. Also of results aren't as predicted, disappear down memory hole. But if for a drug...find an off label use or some other option.
Viewing the video below was an optional activity associated with study participation.  It's only 8 minutes, but it is an example of the types of deception used in market research which Albrecht refers to.  But maybe a good kind of deception, for the sake of the study.  Windows10 keeps timing, so I haven't finished it yet, but studying individualism versus the herd/mob mentality is always interesting.  This video tell me the organizations involved in this research support individualism, which seems nice.  Wouldn't want to be like China.

I finished the short video.  It was surprising.  Maybe we are more like China than I thought.  What kind of person can't get up & leave?  Always plausible is, "I feel kind of sick" or "I need to go take my prescription"...  But these people just sat there even though danger was present (A millennial would have had no problem excusing themself with, "I need to use the restroom," "My best pen is in the car," "I will have to re-take this; not at my best today", etc.  They should do the test for millennials vs dutiful baby boomers, LOL.)

I think folks would be surprised at what life in China is really like, compared to what they think China is like.

This is a channel that taught me a lot:

The fellow is very honest and upfront about a great deal of his experiences. I think you may enjoy watching a few of his videos.

A visitor who likes alcohol, robot dolls & motorcycles, oh, my!  Nice that he found friends quickly, though.

There are many facets to China, from horrible conditions to the executives who benefit from them, and evidently quite a bit in between, as shown in the video.  I didn't know open market security guards would be sensitive about public videos.  Naptime.

Take the bait, Jackstar!
Do you know that if White Crow wasn’t dead he’d send you a hoodie if you send him your address?

Try for a flying dream this time...
Ended up being a dream about some guy who did not have sanitary toileting habit!  I yelled at him, stuffed him in a bag, he retched, & then I deposited him under the table.  He said, "How come you did't put me in the shower?"  I said I was afraid he'd get hurt if he was in the bag much longer.  He cleaned himself up, got handsome & frisky, which was interesting, but by then I was mess & had to pull away for fear of cross-contamination back to him.

Wow, that's nice - if you like hoodies.  Any reason or just generous?  Did he work in a hoodie shop?

This too shall pass.  Try sleeping in a different bed or at a different time - seems your characters may be on a set, and on a schedule.  Sometimes a big dinner or too much sugar at night...?  If they might be related to drinking, have a teaspoon of honey or molasses - - that actually helps on-the-spot to reduce sleep issues that may have to do with drinking.

I am a recovering alcoholic with a lot of sober years.  One thing I kind of wish I knew when I was drinking, would have been to have a little sugar or a solid meal whenever I was wracked with morning anxiety.  I never connected my morning angst with alcohol, because I never had any symptoms of a hang over, no headache, no nausea.  But, all those mornings where I rolled up into a ball could have each been cured on the spot with just a little sugar.  Sigh.

I believe it is so he can identify gullible people to continue his serial killings.  Kind of like why this company is giving gift cards.

They do it through a very large (probably well-known) vendor, lol.  White Crow was a good person.  Funny about the hoodies.  That's so nice when people are able to just give, with no strings.  Every once in a while, when the opportunity arises.

Today, a bum asking for smokes outside a store helped me get my car started when the engine got too hot to start.  He helped me first without asking for anything.  I was really happy to see he spent the little donation I gave him, over at a dollar store across the street, as I was leaving.  So, he didn't buy smokes, alcohol or drugs.  He also told me how I can fix the problem myself, so I'll keep trying.  I had used heat-resistant, waterproof A/C tape but he recommended an adhesive.
