Russian. Who cares?
:o Possibly- but lots of other people/leaders/groups were discovered having questionable, if not illegal depending on country, accounts set up by the Fonseca Firm in Panama (and other places,) not just Russians, some of whom also use car bombs of various kinds. It is a matter of speculation: do you want to 'make an example' or just 'eliminate a problem?' Will the disclosure project, website, etc still keep going now? Yes, since so many involved, other journalists haven't (so far involved been blown up,) and the documents have already been posted, leaked (though more will be coming, supposedly) so I would think a more local motive (Malta etc) than Russian, or other- even personal maybe? Then again wheels within wheels and the story is barely covered here anyway and there was suspicious lack of US persons in the dumps I've seen? Yet, we have a long 'relationship' with Panama. Odd?

They play the odds. You don't hit a target during the fervor. You wait until the crowd goes home and they are alone again after their 15 mins. It sends a signal.

That goes for many a criminal enterprises (ones that last) private or government. Playing a Devil's Advocate, her murder lets everyone in the West (many of whose politicians are also are implicated) to "blame the Russians"- that is the current playbook for everything. What does Russia fear? Many in the West already have sanctions and already consider them Public Enemy Number 1. One more journalist killing would just reinforce the current thinking. And, so far, it doesn't seem Putin or folks close to him (though one never knows the machinations at those levels) have much to lose politicially, internally, by the West or Malta saying "you evil Russians bombed her." But in places where leaders are in a more politically precarious position might have a greater incentive to end the Fonseca dumps and investigation? Russians have a history, so there is that, but if you look at the list of leaders/countries/companies involved there are a lot of unsavory types with, possibly, more to protect? Who knows? Russians are the easy answer for sure. But why so messy when most of the media has forgotten about Fonseca and they already the "bad guy?"

Juan

These are the papers that show the Podestas collusion with the Russians.

There is, quite literally, no shortage of powerful corrupt people to name as suspects.

Yeah. And, amazingly, the news has hardly covered it (here at least.) Imagine this is, mainly, from one law firm. The Fonseca Firm. And there are many lawfirms and banks. Who knows how large the corruption, tax fraud, and money laundering is?

A Maltese multi-millionaire was charged with complicity in the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, marking the first big breakthrough in almost two years in a tortuous investigation that has reached into the prime minister’s office.
