The Clinton Trump Debates

Started by Laughing Gator, September 23, 2016, 07:48:58 AM

I wonder what people's feelings are about the upcoming debate ??

My feelings:

The sad thing is that debates today are all BS. They are usually asked softball or moronic questions and if it is a real issue, then they read a prepared statement from a teleprompter. They then lace this with stupid insults and jibes thrown in. It's all really bad theater. Read the transcripts from the Lincoln Douglas debates--now that was debating. If they were not allowed to read anything, had no ear pieces and no aides near by whispering answers and would honestly discuss the issues and what they would do to try to fix them then I would watch. Instead I'll watch "Keeping Up with the Khardashians"---it's more entertaining and informative about the state of our society then that debate BS.

This is going to be memorable. If I was a bookie, I would have a sidebet right now she that she doesn't make the full 90. I wonder what concoction of amphetamines and pain killers they're going to shoot her up with for this? She has to be wired but lucid. That drug cocktail is going to be amazing.

It would seem the side effects of all the medication would start to be a problem the longer the debate goes. Apart from listening to Hillary's answers, I will be looking at her eyes, her facial expressions, how she stands, the tone of her voice...any signs of a medical issue or side effects from medications/drugs. It is possible she could lose her temper as well, just like the "why aren't I 50% up" rant. That video was disturbing, and did not have the optics their campaign needed.

It's going to be epic! I'm watching on Alex Jones' feed...they will give live commentary as well...

NOW THIS! ????

I'm sure we're overhyping it and she'll make through just fine...

...but I don't know man. A 69 year old woman with "pneumonia" who passed out in public two weeks ago and can only do 30 minutes in public?

I'm really interested to see how they build this to slant against Trump. We already know there's going to be plants in the audience and "fact-checking". I still think this is prime Muhammad Ali versus a corpse. How does she even stay standing for 90 minutes and keep her whits against arguably the best worker on the planet right now?

No matter what, the media will exhalt her and proclaim her as dominating Trump but you can't lie to most people about what they just watched.

Might be worth some comic value. Otherwise, couldn't agree with you more. But instead of the Kardashians, I will be binge watching "True Blood", fast forwarding to the good scenes

Edit: btw Welcome to Bellgab. Post often. Brave gator to start in the Politics section.  If you get hungry, may I suggest the frog legs?

She's gonna fall off that step stool. She's gonna fall off that step stool on live national television.

I don't think she will be allowed to have one.

There's yet another thing slanted against Trump. Show the midget sickly woman for what she is.

Interesting that piece describes her as 5'4". Most references list her as 5'7".
If she's 5'4" -5'7"  she is hardly a midget but if she has lost 3" you have to wonder about the health of her bone structure. Osteoporosis? Or maybe she got wet and is melting.

I didn't pay attention to her appearances with Sanders who is listed at 6'.

I also agree with you.  I'll watch the debate anyway but I'm sick and tired of this lame format.

I think Hillary will easily win the debate only because Trump never really learned how to debate without throwing insults and accusations. If Trump decides to go this route, he'll look like a fool. Of course the media will slant it to Hillary's side. If Trump can break away from the set up questions and launch into what he wants to accomplish, he might have a chance.

I'd say pistols at dawn but Hillary hates guns. Samurai swords it is

Then why do I see Donald every freaking time I turn on the tv? Except for the occasional Hillary commercials, which also show Donald every freaking time. Bless you, TCM

But a "custom made podium" is allowed? What features does that have? Grab bars? Stool to make her look taller? Even some kind of small seat, maybe like one sees on stand-up roller coasters? Completely surrounding her so she can't keel over or whatever braces she uses aren't seen? IVs for injection of certain drugs by handler observers? It is a tough job: standing up and talking, after all.

They could set the stage up like this, I suppose.  (Hopefully Hillary will be more upright for the debate.)

She'll need it to lean on between thrusts. :D  A rifle would be better though.

Clinton is in a coma. They'll roll out a clone, and it and he will parrot their scripted lines.

The whole thing is theater.

Yeah, the kid and I are setting up with a fresh batch of popping corn for Monday's big shoew. I might need to up my drinking game too- I've faltered in this, only having drank less than 6 beers all year, while the gifts of fine tequila that my friends continue to bring when they visit go untouched. So I'll probably open some of that to set the mood.
