I kind of did, with the first one. I widened the hole with an xacto knife, screwed the screw in until i felt the crack, then yanked the screw out with pliers. The tooth came out in halves, a few days apart. Part of the root stayed in for decades.

I listen to a Sacto radio station which runs PSA's warning people about the dangers of engaging in self service dentistry and orthodontics, which just always sounds weird. Confucius say, dentist who fix own teeth have masochist for patient. Seriously though bro, if you're ever in the mood for a vasectomy, see a pro.

We have those here too. I've gotten used to just doing it myself. I can usually just stop the pain by draining the abscess. If i can't get to it, i go to an urgent care and get antibiotics. That happens two or three times a year. They keep telling me they're gonna stop giving 'em to me, but then they look inside my mouth and write me a prescription.
Believe it or not I had a friend who never went to a dentist for decades and was a good old boy. Would brush etc but not get cleanings etc. Finally got insurance through a job and was convinced to go in. The dentist said "amazing" and "I'm not going to advocate it but your gums and teeth look fine considering your tobacco use." Even the initial cleaning was no blood etc when digging around and flossing. His theory was his almost constant Copenhagen use kept gums clean due to the acidic nature or something. Obviously risking worse things, like cancer, but never inflammation, cavities, etc.

Oh there was nothing tiny about it. I used a drywall screw and a phillips head. It didnt have to go in far.
I got a tooth dealt with yesterday by a dentist. Thanks for making me feel like a pussy. :)

I haven't gone to a dentist since the 80's.  I have perfect teeth.  Never have had any problems.  Brush my teeth twice a day and that's it.  I've never even had a cavity.  The only complaint I have is that my teeth are not as white as I'd like them to be.

so, what was the biggest fuck-up in your life, and what did you do to fix it, if anything?

Mine?  10 years ago I met a beautiful woman and married her a month later.  Soon after, I discovered she was severely bipolar and borderline schizophrenic.  Completely barking mad.  I divorced her in under three months.  The whole episode cost me thousands of dollars and almost my sanity.

By the way, I bought her an $8000 engagement ring.

Jesus I was a fucking idiot.

Yes.  Yes you were.

Oh no it totally hurts. I would too if my insurance had a dental plan. Once you start poking around in there over and over again it gets a little easier to tolerate

The AP did a FOIA on flossing and, guess what? Frankly, I still do it because I like things like herring, onions, sauerkraut, sardines, garlic, etc and, so even for my benefit, but more for others, and the general public, certain things 'stay with you' do a good flossing, brushing, and Listerine.

I think, I've, some things are actually bad. Like you should use soft tooth brush, explained to me like a mop versus a broom, which really cleans the floor. And some harsher pastes, I like Peposodent, dance with the one that brung ya, are bad. I don't know. I play a dentist on BG. Chew tobacco, brush and floss, and use old school toothpaste and alcohol-based mouthwash. Haha.

Writing about what was, prior to this, my biggest fuck-up in life here.

pate

Lining my nest in a first-world with a second-whirled hand me down river-terlet, and buying that crappy van from a third-rate plumber that advertised on craigslist.

Wait...

Hautex

Bought a house near my mom so she would never have to go into a nursing home because her health was fading. It was great to be close and after 2 years, she moved in. 2 weeks later, she passed (from natural causes, not my cooking). Now, pot is legal in Washington state, where I consider home, property values have decreased here in the neighborhood my 100% financed VA loan house is in, and all I can do is pray that Texas will legalize medical pot.... , signed: trapped low in tx

I have made a great many mistakes over time, I wouldn't know where to begin.  I'd like to think that I'm saving my biggest F-up for a grand finale of some sort, somewhere down the line, at a date to be determined.

Buying a building with the person I used to call, Dad. Not so long ago it was paid for in full, but then we had a small dispute, a sort of falling out annnd.. he kind of forced my hand/wallet to buy him out. So now I'm mortgaged on the fucking thing again >:(

At least I own the whole thing now and no longer have to worry about his fucking wife getting up to shananigans after he dies, which is soon. (it is now apparent that he was all the while trying to set her up before he passed) There will never be another family Christmas dinner.

OH!! Another huge mistake was believing that woman didn't fart.

What's it pay, and what are the hours? It's a $300,000. building.

My mother died when i was 26. She was the only family i had.
Now, at 46, there is not a day that goes by, I dont run into things I understand now, that i was too young and stupid to know/understand back then,
to enjoy talking to her about and enjoying her company, if she were but here now.

There's not a day that goes by I don't think about that.

Don't despair. She is still with you.  I know what it is like.  Ten years ago, both my parents were well and relatively healthy and so was my brother.  Now they are all gone.  I still feel them around sometimes though.
