What's going on with FG this year?
They are making only 84% of attempted field goals so far.
Could the extra point rule change have anything to do with missing FG?
I don't see how it can be related, unless the 33 yard PAT is getting into the kickers heads.
There's certainly a difference in force between the old XP and the new one. You're seeing guys on high-scoring teams kick what would've been 5 or 6 field goals a game in the older days. You gotta be better conditioned for that. The mental aspect might play a part too.

Or maybe they wanted to screw up football pools. Now it's harder to win with the 7 spots! Bastards.  :)

Considering that interim HC Dan Campbell has been with the Fins since before Philbin, one wonders if he's been the contingency plan since the season began. The owner said something about how he likes Campbell's "grit," which is not something you'd associate with Philbin. He's also got that Bill Parcells connection, having played for the man and one of his notable disciples in Sean Payton.

Grit is exactly what this team needs, particularly the defense.  They have been disappointing &  below mediocre on both sides of the ball. I expected the Dolphins to take the next step due to their offseason acquisitions and help make the AFC East a highly competitive and entertaining division.

If he had been on the field yesterday it might have made the difference in that game.

Well the  colts starting QB Andy Luck is reported to be out for this game tonight & their backup QB is 40 years old (ancient in football years) The Texans could easily win. If they stick with a single QB for the entire game.

I played against Matt Hasselback in high school,(we lost 66-0 and it wasn't that close) his school, Xaverian Brothers, including him, had about 6 players whose fathers played for the Patriots at the time. We had no chance in hell.

Another football dummy here. I picked the Colts. :o

I'm just glad I got my pick in... 5 minutes before the game.

How 'bout those old Colts? Reminds me of when an aged Jim Harbaugh was slingin' for them.

Thank you for the heads-up Eddie!  ;)

With the MLB and NHL discussions taking place over in the "General Discussion" section, I didn't realize there was an NFL thread already going over here.  I just quoted the info about today's podcast in the one I started over there in case anyone else was in the dark like I was, and will leave that thread to die out.

Thanks for the quote in the other thread OLG.

Straddling your interests in football and tech ... when will the NFL be sued by Microsoft for breach of contract.  The Law Offices of Skeeter, Darryl and Darryl are standing by.

guys....the Bills offense looks dazed and confused.  Explain?

Devestating 4th quarter collapse for the Seahawks as they give up 17 points and then lose in OT to Cincinnati.  If they could have gotten just one first down in any of their 4th quarter offensive possessions, the Bengals wouldn't have had time to come back from that far down.

They should be 4 -1 with two road wins this year (also blew a 4th quarter lead at St. Louis in Week 1).  Instead, they're 2 - 3, 0 -3 on the road, and most would probably say they shouldn't have that W from the Monday night Detroit game either.

Next game:  Carolina at Seattle next week.  Seattle has won several in a row against them the last few years, including the divisional round playoff game last year.  Hopefully Lynch will be back.  Thomas Rawls had a great game today in his place, but maybe Beast Mode could have gotten a few first downs late when they were really needed.

I'm not an M$ fanboy, but it kind of frosts my balls when they call the Surface an "iPad."

M$ should sabotage the tablets so coaches start bitching and saying "the iPads don't work."

Lack of discipline, a confused gameplan, and frustration from the refs constantly targeting them. What an ugly win. That first half was useless.

On another note, Josh McCown is Ivan Drago.

Thanks cweb.  I don't think they even got a first down in the first half.  Ugly win is right, and yes, there is an uncanny resemblance. :)

Cweb's correct about the Bills woes today. In addition, I believe they also had several starters out due to injury.

Haha! That had to piss off Microsoft. No doubt M$  sent an angry reminder memo to the networks & NFL with a copy of the check included as reference.
Similar thing happened a few years after the ipod came out.  Every mp3 player was called an ipod, even when it wasn't an apple device.

you are correct, which is even more funny when you realize they don't put the 'i' on their products anymore!

OMG.  It is so tropical hot in SD today. Good luck guys on the 96 degree field. I'm just starting the game. Go Chargers

Gabrielle. I got your pm but couldn't make the podcast. Thanks for the invitation anyway

Also gave up on drinking when:
- they mention Ryan Fitzpatrick went to Harvard
- they mention Fred Jackson went to Division 3 Coe College
- they use the term "running quarterback" on a black QB
- they talk about how "old" Peyton Manning is
- they say "you gotta go for it"
- they praise Tom Brady for accuracy
- they praise Tom Brady for anything, really...
