how has this guy been studying EVP for so long and not heard of Konstantine Raudive?

First I'm hearing of him, now to track down his books. Thanks!

They are losing money, apparently $1500/month to this point.
Maybe they should get a paper route or start delivering pizzas?

Here's another thought:  What if people are recording bullshit themselves and trying to pass it off as real?

I enjoyed the show more than you guys, although Burns needs to use a higher-quality recording device that allows gain control.  His recordings sound really hot.  I also wish he had sent his audio files to Art like the GIS does.  I think he was holding his playback device up to the mic, resulting in these EVPs sounding like Charlie Brown's teacher coming across a police scanner.  Most of my listening was done with quality earbuds (Klipsch X11i).

I'll add that I do like having a different source for EVPs in addition to the GIS that we can compare, and I think Burns can be a great guest if he just raises the bar on his audio.

And we can add "Green witch," and "auto-mon-ously" to "Bee-yons" for the Leo Ashcraftisms.  Love Dark Matter News but sometimes Leo channels Norm Crosby.

Listening on the Time Traveler. Starr, that was a great call! You livened things up. I hope you become a regular caller.

Didn't have a problem with the guest, although I also didn't really hear what anyone else heard. One EVP sounded a lot like a parrot, but maybe because I'm listening on a laptop with not great sound quality. I did hear other things like 'Chuck' loud and clear.

I will never try to record an evp at home because if I ever did get a legible voice in the background, I'd never sleep in this house again.  :o

Yeah, but they might as well be losing $15K a month.  This is business, no radio station can afford to broadcast at a loss, regardless how small.  Looks like the the station gave MITD six weeks to gain an audience and show some sign of turning a profit, but apparently that didn't happen.  What's ironic to me is, of the two large SW stations carrying MITD, it was the Christian-based WTWW in Tenn I would have expected to drop Art, not BCQ.  I've listened to the station for years, it's one of the most eclectically programmed radio stations I've ever heard, from the acerbic Johnny Lightning and reruns of classic radio shows to Gospel music.  I personally am sorry to hear WBCQ drop the MITB since it was my primary source of listening to the program.

I enjoy GIS much more than what I heard last night with Mr. Burns.  GIS is a lot creepier in general whereas Burns just sounded like an excitable boy.

For EVPs, in general, though, the investigators need to step it up a notch.  How many years have we just been hearing one-off recordings?  It's time to seriously pursue attempting a conversation with this "phenomenon," to push it beyond what they've done to date, if there is anything at all to this.

I know GIS attempted in the past to some degree to do this and Burns touched upon it with his supposed recordings around the antique shop with two separate recordings from apparently the same source, the "come inside" and "I'm with God," but if something is really going on, I'd think someone would be seriously developing a real-time method of communication.  We're not talking rocket science to use a device which picks-up an EVP that you can monitor in something close to real-time and then attempt to respond to it to get a "conversation" going.

Edison was interested in this approach and the technology has certainly advanced since his days.  Come on EVP investigators, hook-up with an EE or communications engineer and push this beyond Blackberry recordings.

The EVPs weren't nearly as good as GIS and were taken in less controlled environments. Still I did like the show, he had a lot of interesting facts about New Orleans and the American south. I'd probably rather him talk about his personal experiences than the recordings themselves.

It's always dicey when it comes to EVPs. So much background contamination to deal with. Aside from that, his idea of short EVP sessions is a good one and does work very well.

Yeah, I would have loved hearing Burns' stories. I prefer those over the EVPs.

I wanted the dark tales as well...evp in doses for me...I could listen to Ghost stories ad nauseum...

This guy was FULL OF IT!

Holy crow.. Some of those were obviously toys. Can't believe Art was so cool with him.

The worst part is the story about losing his brother. If that's true, this is a horrid way to honor his legacy.

I clearly heard "Chuck E's in Love Again".

No one's going to read my comment because it's soooo many days late, but this comment made me laugh so hard, Uncle Dave.

And now I must go listen to that song.

From Artbell.com

"His numerous technical skills include a mastery of advanced audio filtering techniques for enhancing faint EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) recordings."

What a crock of shit. He's using an old piece of shit blackberry  and if you knew anything at all about EQ, let alone whatever the fuck "advanced audio filtering" is supposed mean in this context, his EVP might sound worth a fucking shit. Sounds like another self taught "expert."

slatetungsten

his crap sounds like a 99 cent ghost app crossed with a broken see-n-say    air time filling fraud

Roswells' everyone.
Glad to be here.
:D

I've decided to give one of my laptops to my eldest Son.  What apps and options should I remove?  What apps and options are okay to leave on?  Let me know.  You know where.  ;) :-*
