thank you for the response....all im really saying is i think they should put it off instead of rushing into it unless something is there worth going....i havent really done too much research into it but when were they planning the trip to mars?

Nothing concrete.  There are certain launch windows to Mars based on closing distances.

Here they are, dude  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploration_of_Mars#Launch_windows

But did you see the NASA competition link I posted?  They are trying to come up with super fast deep-space engines to get their QUICK.

I'd like to volunteer my probe to find an intelligent life...

So far, so very, very listenable and this guy is very good on the radio with Art.  Dr. Darling is not pushing his talking points, he listens to Art's question.  He must have taken Speech & Debate in school.

Who isn't?  They had to come up with funding to go to the moon as well.  Amazing how that works, eh?

Sheesh.

This dude rules.  My new favorite Art Bell science guy.

Wouldn't even need that. All you need is nanotechnological utility fog and you can basically build a forcefield. Domes are a terrible idea. They're inefficient as far as the amount of atmosphere you need to produce for the dome, and they hold heat far too efficiently for use on the moon.

I asked RCH about why aliens didn't terraform the Moon. He said its gravity wouldn't allow for an atmosphere. Then I asked why they didn't give the Moon artificial gravity to maintain an atmosphere. He backtracked and said they wouldn't want an atmosphere to interfere with their view of the Earth.

I'm with you Crappsie ... and Michio Kaku as well, who thinks we really should just stick to robots & rovers for some time.  As the guest said, Mars is vastly more difficult/expensive/dangerous than the moon.  Someday, sure, we'll be zipping around the solar system, but not for awhile.  Until then let's learn as much as we can, and improve our scientific & technological knowledge here.

Which of course begs the question of why would you build a dome to hold in an atmosphere? He's getting too dated. He should try to let that stuff rest and focus on being a radio host or one of these nights he'll get his ass handed to him by a futurist. I don't really want to see that to be honest, I think the guy's show is great, but he's wide open.

Look if it was in an old Flash Gordon episode, it's plausible science.  Glass domes n' ray guns dude, still legit.
