We are giant microbial world robots, we have galaxies of lifeforms riding along with us, yes it maybe fractal, galaxies within galaxies......we are the robots made by our microbial ancestors....

So the internet is the beginning of the interconnecting of our concousness into a superconciousness. Just like the single cells started coming together to bring about us multicelled shlubs.

Nice.  It makes me sad when Richard tries to talk like a physicist:  "Richard, where's your empirical evidence for 'hyperdimensional physics?'"

She just needed the love of a real man.  The male species failed her.  Then she wrote Leather and Lace.

Microbial consciousness, real AI will be analog and digital, it will exist in terms of molecular genetics, robotic microbes, etc The internet finally connects all these microbial communities together by getting them all to work together to create a sort of Global Brain basically.

Tricky, eh? When you have total recall of your memories it changes the equation for when you have partial or selective recall like most of us. You become a different person if you are indeed the sum of your memories.
I remember hearing that they think they will be able to "destroy" traumatic memories soon.  So if you are a soldier PTSD can be a thing of the past.  In one way, that is good.  In another, if you can do really rotten things and not "feel" afterwards, I don't know that is healthy either.

AI would be a double edge sword in that perfect recall would be the "norm" which would change us, so is deleting what you don't like or don't want to recall...

Our bodies don't always do that. We can go schizophrenic, or develop dementia, or have ourselves drained from us through Alzheimers. If biotech prevents physical death or illness, which it will eventually do, then there is no need for the concept of a soul. It becomes meaningless.

Again, you're talking about memory. Alzheimer's affects the brain's ability to function. That's different from the idea of what could be called a "soul."

Also the ability of preserving the body via biotech is dependent on outside forces. The ability to prolong life only exists if the biotech continues to exist or is able to be maintained.

I fell asleep listening then had a dream of eating a junk food buffet in someone's basement... I think this Tuton implanted a digital bug in my brain...

A blank slate robot reads dick and Jane. See dick run, see Jane run, see spot run.
What's a spot?

But even that is assuming far too much as a starting point. He was probably playing fast and loose with his explaination language. I'm refering to the long debated Blank Slate model of mind (e.g. John Locke) and Kant's later  revolutionary model of mind (being very much the opposite idea). And Kant's ideas, e.g. pre-wired "categories" in which to file stuff, proved far closer to the truth. Kant's work (late 1700's) marks the beginning of modern Epistemology and even Psychology, i.e. "proper" science of mind.
