Anyone still have any "Pizza Punch"

Started by WastingMyPotential, July 29, 2015, 10:33:19 AM

I moved  awhile back and when I was packing I found that I still have a 1/2 used bottle of "pizza punch". I tucked it away in a box and its now in deep storage for when the zombies attack, anyone else still have theirs?  Think its still any good? Doubt it, probably went bad a long time ago. To be honest I don't think that the "commercial version" was ever as good as the description Art gave after he discovered it with his wife but its still a cool Art Bell artifact….   Sure someone has the recipe, right, anyone???

Bring back the punch Art.  Or should I say: Art, thanks for bringing back the punch!

Oh that's funny. I only recently found out about this product while listening to an old C2C on U7. Maybe Art will reveal the recipe, right here on BellGab!

And isn't it funny he discovered this delicious dipping sauce in Paris?! And not Italy. My best guess is it was an olive oil/garlic/vinegar concoction.

It will probably go to his grave, like the ouija story and the third secret of Fatima. If I remember it was Ramona who figured out the ingredients.

I think I remember they paid the chef or somehow otherwise got the chef to give up the recipe. Could be wrong...

Art was asked about Pizza Punch in the Reddit IAMA.

The recipe is lost. If you have a bottle of it, the recipe could be re-formulated.

This would be expensive.

However, this is not only possible, but it is feasible. Preserve that bottle. No joke.

Believe it or not found a full unopened bottle of Pizza Punch recently! Yes, I know I should be a better housekeeper. In my defense it had fallen on it's side in an overhead cabinet and was buried like the treasure it was!. Certain it's probably not as fresh as it could be! Any thoughts? Art would you like to remanufacture?  Am I sitting on a Relic! Loll.....

SEND YOUR BOTTLES TO THE LAB! We must bring the punch back to our buds.

The technology exists. Expensive.

Anyone who still has an original bottle has a "collectors item" but probably not the kind of thing you'd see for big figures at an auction house. Art has said in an interview that this is "Ramona's baby" and that he doesn't plan on re-releasing it.

However, don't despair - here is a recipe of what "Pizza Punch" really is - tweak to your personal taste:
Quality Virgin Olive Oil (base of it all that carries the flavor)
With dashes of:
Seasoned Red Pepper (don’t get too carried away unless you like hot)
Thyme
Cumin
Basil
Oregano
Crushed Garlic (possibly powder in the original - it definitely had garlic in it but no obvious signs of cloves)
Dried Onion
1 tbsp or 2 lempon juice
a dash of red or white wine

Let it sit for a week or two in the refrigerator

HOW DARE YOU!! Bunch of sorcerers trying to recreate your precious potion of FOOD PORN from the Devil's Mouthpiece!!! SINNERS!!!
;D

(*in gravely Devil's voice*) MMMMM, but its sooo goood, I pour Pizza Punch over everything I eat!! When I'm not listening to Art I watch the Food Channel!

I already put all this on everything up to and including toast.

Its versatile all right, brings new life to dry sandwiches and makes a great salad dressing as well. Found a pic of the original bottle. Cheers!
