I will read the Skype posts, above, and see what I can add to the discussion. For sure, the interface and options for Skype do differ between PC and Mac, and even between mobile or desktop apps.

As for the threads issue, we are thrilled to have our own Bella-Haven thread, right here right now. We roamed freely throughout the forum promoting the Blitz for Art project, but that moment is over.

One of the things we all love here at Bellgab is the chance to have focused discussions, and all the other DMDN shows tend to stay in their own threads, as it should be. Worse, we're not even on the DMDN itself, so MV's kind indulgence has been a godsend for us.

So now we have to figure out new and improved ways to let people know that we exist as a valid after-Midnight review-and-discuss show. If any of you here in the Bella-Haven thread have the slightest expertise with FaceBook, can you lead us (me) on a good path for promoting?

It goes to branding, Nancy...it is very difficult to get a new brand established, especially one that does not say exactly what it is...I love the name Bella Haven, but it says nothing about being an Art Bell Wrap Up Show...that is something that will have to be taken into serious consideration...

Dear Nancy,  unfortunately, my twitter and Facebook, consist of only a few family, and special friends. As it is, they have informed me that I have spammed them ENOUGH already,especially after the Art blitz...lol's. I hope u will forgive me, but I have been informed by my peeps that they KNOW already.  At this point, for my gang, further "promotions" would do more harm than good I'm afraid. I hope that makes sense, and is acceptable to you.....

See, that's why you're in business. You know what business means and it goes without saying that we mean business. When developing this project, I only wanted to touch on the Bell name, rather than take up the banner completely. Ultimately, we want to dependably be on the air even if Art takes a night off, goddess forbid.

That and trying not to step too hard on the toes of the "sanctioned" after show. People all over know RCH but only those of us here and those that listen to Future Theater know you and RoseGirl..........so far. We need to change that. Question, would you or Rosie be up for an outside interview? Just an idea, give me time.

I understand completely! it's as nitch as nitch gets! However, you have folks signing up on BellGab everyday now that are brand new to all of this! If you had something with the flavor or "Bella Haven - The Unsanctioned MITD Wrap Up Show!" That might more fit the vibe! Something that says what it is, does not take itself seriously...Yea that may be a bit long of a name, but I give it more to make a point...

Fun words could be Unsanctioned, Unofficial, Not Endorsed, Unaffiliated, etc...LOL

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this.

I might be WAY off base here, but when I listen to the show, it feels like a bellbabbers after hours bar, rather than a show dedicated to the topic that was just covered on MITD.  I LOVE it the way it IS.  We have bellgabbers calling in and talking to each other about whatever comes to mind, and the topic changes every 5 seconds lol's.  Of course, I support whatever direction  Nancy wants to take, but I DO love it the way it is now.  I LOVE hearing bellgabbers just gab.

Me too...but I think Nancy wants to be relevant to the new folks too...and there will be new folks stopping in...if all the convo is just insider, then Bella Haven will lose those folks...there has to be a happy median...

Maybe that happy medium could be done with a certain amount of time dedicated to the show topic, and a certain amount of time dedicated to callers.  Dunno, just brain storming.

Hi Brig!

You post reminds me of why exactly Bella-Haven must dig in, make the space, get the listeners, and continue to grow. I did make a Bella-Haven page on Facebook, but have no idea how to get people to move it along without bothering our long-suffering family and friends.

My own kids have really gotten disgusted with all the promo stuff. Of course we could devote all our non-working hours to customizing FB into separate places for our separate interests the way Google + tried to suggest, but geeeeze.

I think we're going to have to re-instigate the Bella-Blitz. But this time for us.

Honestly?  I don't spend much time on either twitter OR FB.  Mostly my friends and family private message me on my facebook messenger app on my android phone......other than that, I really have no use or time for either of those programs.  There is a lot to be learned on BOTH Twitter AND FB, but internet radio is my preferred method of educating myself......ESPECIALLY MITD, SPecSheet, Gabcast, and Bella-Haven.  OF course, I might be a little prejudiced........Mwahahahaha

YESS!!  Looks like Nancy is thinking of editing the wording in the Thread Title to Chefists' suggestion ALREADY !!!!!

Nancy, does Bella_Haven have a dedicated FB page?  me no can find it....but if you do, I certainly will *favorite* it if that helps.  Just that nonna my peeps uses FB and Twitter much, SO......neither do I.  I hope I don't loose any brownie points for that....if SO, I will CRY

One of the things to consider IMO with FB and twitter is the haters......Look at *Daves* FB page for example.  It makes our live IRC chats look tame sometimes ........ do you really want to deal with that?  IF you do...I say GO for it.  IF not, its perfectly understandable.  A well known radio personality that I know of, abandoned their Facebook Page for just such reasons.

I agree. I seriously wanted to talk about my cast iron skillet but have already got all the info on it that I needed. But I am sure there might be some other "off topic" things I'd like to call in about.
