disclosure

i did a search and failed to find a thread with the same title.  some were similar but years old.  i'd like to stir the pot

i read a book a while back called "Everything You Know Is Wrong" which is a collection of essays published by the Disinformation media group.  in the back of the book ... nestled in with a bunch of short pieces that weren't big enough to be essays but were too interesting not to be included ... there's a short bit about how the UN/International Community tried to outlaw the weaponization of space.  they list a series of familiar and unfamiliar sounding weapons.  plasma weapons.  microwave weapons.  nuclear weapons.  then they kind of drop a bombshell towards the end: extra-terrestrial weapons.  i must have read that paragraph a thousand times.  they were basically quoting from the UN resolution at that point.  so was this a slip up?  unintentional disclosure?  or was someone just ... thinking ahead?

is anyone else familar with this book?  or the UN resolution attempting to prevent the weaponization of space?

EDIT //
further evidence that i should refer/re-read documents BEFORE posting

the legal document i mentioned is ... the Space Preservation Act of 2001 ( H.R. 2977 ) and was not a product of the UN but rather the US Congress.  big difference.  also ... the term 'extra-terrestrial' was used in conjunction with other words that suggest that the legal language may have been referring to weapon systems designed for use in different regions of the atmosphere or proximity to the planet.

more exactly ... the phrase appears like this ...

(vi) strategic, theater, tactical, or extraterrestrial weapons and;

it's still a really interesting article.  though ... probably not a slip up disclosure.

i'm an asshat.  carry on.

DISCLOSURE: What exactly is it?  Who would need to disclose, and disclose what?  Please draft a memo for signature. Whose signature?
I wonder what the majority of people would want to hear, and who would they want to hear it from?
If there is ever disclosure, just think of all those who would suffer... no more books on disclosure, no more meetings on disclosure, no more discussions about disclosure.  Well, maybe not that bad, because there would always be many who would not consider "The Disclosure", actually disclosure.
I've worked for the Feds for going on 36 years, and I've been fibbed to by many bosses, and bosses bosses, and bosses bosses bosses. And I work for the Feds. I don't think we will ever get REAL DISCLOSURE.
If you really crave disclosure, I would read one of the Richard Dolan books, like UFOs and the National Security State.
That should give you as much disclosure as you need, and just imagine all the government documents he hasn't reviewed.

Knowledge is power, so there will NEVER be disclosure about anything the elite can use to increase THEIR power.

By the way, your list of weapons reminded me of this clip:

George Carlin - We Like War

Let's be honest here.  If there were disclosure Richard Hoagland style, we would be suspicious.  Our collective eyes would narrow and we would immediately be posting, "Why now?"  You're nodding, you know it's true.  Someone would reply, "It's a smokescreen to hide what's going on in the Middle East, where the sky is falling."  and someone else would say, "We aren't buying it--the video is old, look at the CD player/alarm clock on the credenza behind the President and the Aliens."

"Yeah, and I saw that face ripping act already on V.  I'ts a set up."

i asked a friend - a Baby Boomer - who he thought killed Kennedy.  he told me to never ask questions that have no answers.  there's been so much said about Kennedy's death that we will never be able to really know what is true and what isn't.  and if the gov't ever disclosed anything ... no one would trust anything they say at this point.  unless they're disclosing that taxes are going up

speaking of V, did anybody watch the new series?  i couldn't finish the first season.  it was so terrible.

b_dubb

I watched the first four shows or so, then it was interrupted by the olympics when it first aired here in Canuckistan. Why do that? Why break up a show like that? It totally strips it of all momentum it had before. After the break I had no interest in going back.

Actually it wasn't all that great at all, but it pisses me off this would be allowed to happen. It's not like the market is cornered on V and unless a new show comes out NOW the chance would have been missed. They should have just waited to launch it and it would have been at least tolerable.

Some nice eye candy in there though. ;)

Let's be fair though, the original wasn't exactly all that great either ;)(in the interest of disclosure, I do own and love the original series)

Lena

I like the original, despite it's annoying holocaust references.

b_dubb

just wondering ... why are Holocaust references annoying?

Lena

Because - unlike the slaughtering of native american Indians, the millions the commies killed, and the Million of German civilians and prisoners that the US. Army KILLED in camps AFTER WWII - it get's a weekly spot in the media, and people get thrown in jail for questioning it's historical accuracy, and it serves as a smokescreen to allow the Israeli government to commit genocide against Palestinians and hardly anybody gives a damn about these folks.

anagrammy

Agreed, Lena +1.

Where is the wall for all the Native Americans we slaughtered?

Why are Jews allowed to treat Palestinians so horribly?  Is it because the abused become abusers?  Jews should be the LAST ones to deny people freedom and treat them as subhuman, while we American human rights advocates look the other way mumbling "it's complicated."

American support of Israel in the Middle East is THE problem.  We enable them to be public bullies.  They don't have to make concessions because they can use force.  Force that we gave them.

i have jewish friends (some of whom live in israel), and i have palestinian friends.  i talk to both routinely on this very subject.

good luck convincing me it's not complicated.

anagrammy

I don't think the human rights aspect is complicated, Michael.

It's not necessary for Jews to answer the question, "Are you an occupation force?" (which would subject them to the Geneva Convention), but explain to me what is complicated about

Food
Water
Medical Care
Transportation

I don't see how these needs cannot be met while officials discuss the complications.  That's what I meant.

It's MASSIVELY complex.  I blame the Brits.  ;)

Interesting quote:

Ben Rich, former head engineer to Kelly Johnson at Lockheed's 'Skunk Works' :
"We have things in the Nevada desert that you and the best minds in the world won't even be able to conceive that we have for 30 or 40 years, and won't be made public for another 50."

listening to Fresh Air on NPR right now ... discussing Roswell crash ... Area 51 ... so the Roswell crash (according to this author) ... was a flying disc built by the RUSSIANS to fuck with our minds.  anyway ... listen to this show - May 17th

Wasn't that AMAZING? Dunno what to thing, but the woman seemed sane enough.  I didn't catch it all - I think Terry Gross has a podcast though, gonna go look for it now.

Of course we also have the theory that the Roswell crash was a post WWII Nazi experiment.  According to the theory the Nazis who escaped to Argentina were behind the early UFO sightings and the pass over the White House in July of 1952 was their way of saying "You really did not win the war after all."  Joseph Ferrell is an author who has advanced many of these theories.

b_dubb: thanks for posting the actual date of your post.
Otherwise, I would have thought that 'yesterday' listed
before yours might have been some technical glitch since
before then, I couldn't tell if this was a dead topic
since about March of this year.

I had a comment, but now . . . I'm nervous.  First time
vistor, long time . . .

Saffy

I hate to say it since I am a solid believer in the UFO phenomenon, but the Roswell "disk" is exactly what the Air Force said it was: some sort of balloon.

What turned me away from Roswell was the fact that no machinery or tech was found at all. Not even a screw, wire, or diode. I find it difficult to believe that a space traveling civilization would have ships that consisted of nothing but "memory metal" and an I beam. Something isn't right.

Roger

Was there 'memory metal', and 'I-beam'?

I remember one documentary about the balloon project of those days, and
he said they used some celluloid tapes for the ultra-light 'I-beams' or
struts carrying reflectors or mylar-like sensors, as a way of picking up
signals of nuclear events in the USSR or some such.  This chap was saying
that what that doctor described as 'alien symbols' was just some random
pattern printed on this tape.

I find none of it very convincing, that documentary included.

It's all second, third and fourth hand stuff.

Maybe we do, properly, have to 'believe' in 'unidentified flying objects',
even though that reduces to a kind of oxymoronic state of
'not knowing what is unknown.'

I happen to KNOW that I don't know what an 'unidentified' object is, flying
or not.  Not a belief, unless I doubt my senses.

David Hatcher Childress notes some ancient texts from an oral source,
now reduced to print, that amongst the different classes of 'flying
machines' or 'Vimana' as recorded in various Hindu lore, are supposedly
'ships' formed from the bodies of shapeshifting yogis!  Perhaps that was
what was shot down over Roswell!  Then one would have expected to find
nothing or maybe a few flakes of skin or other inert detritus. I personally
don't think that lore necessarily any more or less worthy of belief than
our modern day science-fiction writers. I don't buy the Corso delineations,
either en toto.  I prefer to keep an open mind.  Resisting the urge to
come to a conclusion . . . a challenge.

yes i have read this book .i heard the author once .his main purpose to open up people to new ideas.their are lots of references in govt. papers about ufos.weapons,etc. the jockeying up above with the intersteller fighting is almost done .that one gentleman on coast who watched them wwith night vision. the moon can go back to being a reg.babylon 5.to get disclosure people of like mind must spread out across america and call them down like that ranch in the northwest . when they start showing up everywhere it cannot be ignored. spread the word .make sure you bring protection and love.i know all this woo woo stuff. but their are lots of lower level entities and cold blooded aliens to be aware of. the biggest thing we dont know is how powerful we are .they are often disgusted with us for not using it.on the other hand they are terrified if we use it  :)
