GIS FB page says "Jimmy Chunga: Celebrity DJ/producer. Featured on the hit TV series “My Ghost Story” and Dark Matter with Art Bell" One time on Dark Matter and he ads it to his resume. He ruined that show

Jimmy ruins everything. Grown ass man pretending to be a dj. He's the type of guy you never leave your little girls alone around. The program wasn't that bad itself, it's just having someone who is so obviously there to promote himself and feed his crazy ego is distracting. I'm like the poster in Mulder's office. Chunga is like William Gibson episode.

I only heard a bit of this n YOUTUBE - I'm glad Barb is coming back, and want to ask if they ever do after-the-fact follow ups  (as with the child splashing in water - maybe a well - did they ever check to see if anything happened there that could relate to those sounds?)

This is my first post on the forum, but I've been listening to Art Bell since West Coast AM.

Now, two things -

First all, I am also a DJ, of the sort of techno/rave variety -- however if you asked me
I actually prefer old skool electro hip hop - think Afrika Bambaataa, Kraftwerk, Newcleus,
Twilight 22, Egyptian Lover -- if those names ring any bells at all for anyone.
I also like the Detroit sound - such as Jeff Mills, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Underground Resistance.
And Chicago House, and the Acid House scene from the UK.

And I won't touch dubstep with a 93.7 million foot pole.

With that in mind we get to


Second of all, Chunga a total asshole.

Chunga ruined everything about the GIS.

And I'm trying to be more polite than what I really feel.

I'm sad that Chunga is a DJ, because that means Chunga and myself have something in common.

I just have to believe he's playing dubstep somewhere... he must be.


Anyway, sad to see the GIS fall apart like that.

The new EVPs were totally fake of course.
Chunga's voice acting into a mic from point blank range did not impress.

Has there been any explanation on what was going on there?

I mean, did Barbara bail out because Chunga had sweet talked his way into convincing the other members that they could get their own reality tv show? Or selling the hoax spirit box?

Yes, Brendan re-writing history for Chunga, and stabbing Barbara in the back...

I think Barbara could salvage the situation -- provided she has a pretty good and compelling explanation.

Part of me wonders if it was not sort of "payback" for getting Brendan to be featured on television with Chunga.  I have to agree that Brendans reputation has suffered (and, I would question if Chunga is "out" of the GIS or only "out" of the MITD interview)... I somehow get the feeling he will be holding on...


With that said, I'm sure that I will be able to put this all aside when Barbara is back on and Art is hosting.  As long as they leave the "it watches me while I sleep" EVP at home that night.

I wonder if Art will bring all this up?  Simply straight up ask about the fake EVP thing. 


Of course -  Art is the consummate professional, so he'll do what is good radio. But, I can't help but think if the question was asked in the right way at the right time, it would make for some great radio.

Yeah, this.
I mean, most of us have followed the GIS for years, if only through their appearances with Art. And they've been favorite guests and seemingly more credible than most others who deal with ghost/afterlife stuff. So Chunga really is something that everyone deserves a frank and truthful answer for.
And they definitely need to have their feet held to the fire by the audience, if Art doesn't pursue that himself.

On another note - has anyone discussed using the chat room - or some other portal - for us during the first show?   I think that would be awesome to have a real-time chat going for the first live broadcast.  I don't normally stay up that late but I would for this.

for each broadcast, we will have a live show thread here on bellgab (you're posting in one of those right now).  if there's some huge clamoring for a chat room then i'd reevaluate, but chat is such a shit experience for these things.  it goes by so quickly and your thoughts are forever lost in the ether.
