a nice 80's song, not spectacular, but gives a good mood, exactly what Art wants I think.

Never2Late

Finally caught up, really great list of music out there. I'm sticking the songs from this thread on a playlist for myself to listen to.

LazerHawk - Beyond the Infinite Void   2012

LazerHawk - Shoulder of Orion   2012

Touch -Daft Punk and Paul Williams    2013
This whole album is great. Pretty big departure from Williams' The Rainbow Connection
A concept track about a robot learning how to feel.

Black Velvet ... I know this was one of your bumper music tunes, but I don't want you to forget it ... it is so good!  (forgot all about it until I listened to Art on U7 today)

If anyone knows any other bumps that aren't on this list, let me know.

General:  Nice list. I only have a mish-mosh list of "Coast" bumpers, where the bumpers which Noory added to Art's collection can't be distinguished.  It's good to have a list of *** Art's *** bumpers.

More of Art's:

Doors - Don't You Love Her Madly
Nancy Sinatra - Lady Bird
Asereje - The Ketchup Song
Gerry Rafferty - Get it Right Next Time
Bobby Sherman - Seattle
Peter and Gordon - Knight in Rusty Armor
Mamas and the Papas - Saw Her Again Last Night
Diana Ross and the Supremes - The Happening
Bee Gees - Night Fever
Andy Williams - Can't Get Used to Losing You
Turtles - You Showed Me
Irene Cara - Flashdance
Air Supply - Lost in Love
Reflections - Just Like Romeo and Juliet
Gary Lewis & the Playboys - Rhythm of the Rain
Dick & Dee Dee - The Mountain's High
Poetry in Motion - Johnny Tillotson
ELO - Rockaria
The Vogues - Five O'Clock World
Randy Newman - Short People
Four Seasons - Working My Way Back to You
John Lennon - Imagine
George Harrison - Blow Away
Led Zeppelin - D'yer Mak'er

Some of these are pre-1972 though, which doesn't help in putting together new bumpers.

I think some of these he might have played rarely - like Short People, lol.

The General's list is on p. 17 of this thread if anyone's wondering.

A couple moody numbers, that could work well late in a show.

Anyone out there know of any video game soundtracks ...

I love the soundtrack to my all-time fave game Deus Ex, which if you know anything about the plot totally fits in with so many of Art's topics:  clandestine gov't agencies, A.I., biotech, secret societies, area 51, etc.

I don't think these would be good as openers, but could be used maybe as techno-noirish bumpers.

the girl needs a better songwriter. this doesn't have a melody nor any lyrics to speak of.

I've been making a list of potential bumper music songs for the last few weeks. No links but they're easy to find if you need a memory jog. Most are pretty mainstream but contain the riff that all good bumpers are made of...  Some of these may have been used in the past but are worthy of another mention:

Loves Me Like a Rock - Paul Simon (1973)
Every 1's A Winner - Hot Chocolate (1978)
Fight The Power Pt 1 (Time Is Truly Wasting) - Isley Bros. (1975)
Long Cool Woman - The Hollies (1972)
Saturday In The Park - Chicago (1972)
Call On Me - Chicago (1974)

Waiting For July (2015)

Was thinking just the tip, I mean, intro...
Thus making perfect Mood Music.

How about some Steely Dan?  All their post-debut albums are '73 or later, and so many great songs besides the obvious overplayed FM hits.  A few suggestions:

Screaming Blue Messiahs - President Kennedy's Mile (1986)

Very talented English trio...These guys should have been huge back in the eighties...
(Cannot find the lyrics for this song online…Definitely a conspiracy…)

Dateline

My suggestion for an intro is the rock classic "Light My Fire" by the Doors.
