I agree that secret teachings show SUCKS!  The Late Night in the Midlands host was on a few months ago talking about how that secret teachings show was so great, this was before his half hour tirade bashing the listeners where he repeatedly said he doesn't "give a shit" what the listeners think.  Both shows suck big time.  I have not listened to those two shows since then and won't listen to DMRN on the weekends anymore because of those shows.

Lately C2C seems to have gotten even worse.  It's time to give DMR another listen.

What do you all think of Paranormal Central? I like Darkness Radio with Schrader and his approach is great. Curious about PC and never listened in. I might this evening. Do they delve into it beyond the scruffy boys in Korn tshirts ghost hunting tv woo woo crap approach?

they can be good, but most times are just ok, and sometimes terrible. they are bigfoot centric, so e aware of  that.

Dark Matter Radio Network has been down for nearly 12 hours due to some kind of network router issue as reported by Keith.
Looks like its starting to work again now.

Haha. I noticed that. I listened the first five minutes and sounded like some Sasquach (sp?) report. I lost interest and turned it off.

Wish there was just a weekly executive summary.

Danger!UFO

Who is the host of Paranormal Central? Some guy named Jeffrey? Here's another example of being on Art Bell's Dark Matter Radio Network going to someone's head. (They drop Art's name quite a bit during their shows)

Talk about delusions of grandeur and magical thinking. Here are some of the host's thoughts:

There was a Saturday morning children's show called "Isis" back in the 1970's. It was a live action show about a female superhero. The host made some kind of connection with the show he saw as a child and the ISIS group that is the news today. Really?

The host recently went to his high school reunion. He found out that two of the bullies that use to pick on him had died. He confessed that he always wished they would die. He was upset that he had something to do with their deaths. Really?

Some sort of news report mentioned a similar idea or theory about the disappearance and death of a person. The host said 'they are finally listening to us on this show' or some sort of thing. Really? No one can come up with a similar theory?

Now I listen just to get a laugh. The new studio. Going to a three hour show. A Fox Network show? Taking the ride on the Art Bell network? Unreal.

The show is what it is. They get more listeners from being on the DMRN and they they get big headed. Quit the nonsense.

One show that really needs to go is the "Secret Teachings".

I agree that Dark Weekend and Howard Hughes are the best things on the network. I wish they were on more often.

I listen  to the DMRN in support of Art. I would send Art a subscription fee but I could never support the network because of some of the shows that air. If I can't stream for free I wouldn't be listening.

*laughs*  Yep, "Paranormal Central" is beyond bad.  To those who've not heard it, imagine Wayne and Garth ditching "Wayne's World" to do a paranormal program.  As bad as the hosts are, the guests are worse.  My personal favorite was the guy who talked for several minutes about the UFOs he saw, then complained UFO investigators refused to look in to his case because he was on high powered blotter acid at the time of the sighting.  You can't make this stuff up.

In all honestly, I though Keith had opted to run a paranormal program parody, sort of the "Fernwood Tonight" treatment to poke fun at all the (at best) mediocre paranormal porgramming.  I just shook my head when I realized "Paranormal Central" was for real.  OF course, without this schlock, we'd not appreciate Bateman and a few others who produce quality programs.

laserjock

Some of the show's hosts are immature and need to feel important and shit.  But Keith/Art are doing a good thing in general trying to make this network happen.  I've been angered and annoyed by things hosts have said and done, but we have to keep in mind that not everybody can be Art Bell.  Some people want to do radio, but they really aren't meant for it.  Just remember, Noory has been doing it for ages and he is a mushmouth lamebrain, it isn't as easy as people think it is.  Any job done well requires deft and dedication and ethics.  We need to support DMRN so that it can get stronger and attract better talent.  Hosts just need to keep their egos in check and maintain ethics and treat their audience with respect.

Ha, that is a stretch.  I do vaguely remember that show - the star would say "Oh Mighty Isis!" and the clouds would gather and her powers would heighten.  As I remember it would come on back-to-back with Shazam! where the main guy drove around in some kind of RV or something but also had superpowers.

This does get me thinking, someone does need to do a show on all those weird 70's and early 80's kids shows.  Remember H.R. Puff n' StuffLiddsvilleLand of the LostSigmund and the Sea Monster?  ... I mean I wanna know what the hell was going on at that time to spawn all these weird shows.

There was another amazing episode of Paranormal Central last night.  The chief goober, whom I assume is Gonzalez, revealed that he spends a lot of time on Facebook trying to find out what is going on.  He pointed out that most people don't have time for this.
Also, he was at a non-specified place and saw a pallet of "supplies."  Then he speculated that Ebola is a false flag. Then he wondered why, if "they" are spreading a virus to kill us all, are they sending pallets of supplies all over the country.  The other host supposed it was a controlled false flag, and Gonzalez agreed.

What an interesting exchange.  Are the holes and leaps of logic simply stupidity, a lack of knowledge of logical analysis, or signs of a mental disorder?

wr250

apparently they also have some sort of tv deal in the works. however most tv programming sucks worse than noory, so that doesnt surprise me any.

Juan

He says it is a Fox network show, but from other things he's said, it is obvious it is a local show he doesn't have sense enough to know the difference.

Where are the sources to back up any of these wild crazy theories?  I think I caught the replay this morning, I heard him mention military aircraft spraying ebola from the sky, then to Benghazi politics and mentioned the evil 'liberal media' and the computer chip they will be giving people in liquid form in vaccines REALLY?  What the heck is this guy smoking?  It took me some time to realize this was not a parody show and these guys were actually being serious.

Juan

Sources?  He don't need no stinkin' sources.  And he seems to never have any.

laserjock

Guys, I don't know why this hasn't come up yet, maybe it's because it is the elephant in the room:  How the heck are Art and Keith paying the bills to keep this network going?  I personally have no problem with advertising, though I'd hope what is advertised is stuff that doesn't offend me and isn't snake oil.  Also, they need more UFO talk.  I can't stand conspiracy junk, I hate Alex Jones and think JB Wells is a bung hole.

I think Rollye posts here under an anonymous nick.

Isn't Gonzalez the guy that wants to shoot bigfoot?
I give him credit for having a speech impediment and doin it anyway. It wouldn't matter if he had Howard Hughes voice, Paranormal Central is shit.

Listeners? UFO/Conspiracy/New-Age convention people with all the answers. They have their own boards where they can all agree with each other. When you have more moderators than members you can keep the bad people away who might make you question your beliefs or laugh at yourself.

Did you know George Noory sucks? I know why Ian has to be diplomatic. I don't know what your deal is.

At this very moment there are 152 listeners and over 200 people here. You should be asking why more people viewing BellGab aren't listening... oh wait, that's just stupid! My apologies.

It is safe to say there are more hosts than listeners anyway.

Because people treat host like shit here. Even art bell. Posters largely have a tough time posting on topic messages and topic threads become filled with junk that's unrelated. I like the forum I just wish posters would self police a little more.

I asked a really popular podcasters to post here. Will not say who but essentially they said this place would discourage them if they posted here.

WildCard

Do we treat bateman like shit? No more or less than before he was a rock-star. And he gives as good as he gets.

Art seemed capable of defending himself when dip-shit started talking trash.

Are those husband and wife dingdongs that wrote Dave's cookbook still on Dark Matter?

I can't listen to them.  The old lady loves to go on about pot and witches, and the old guy is 19.5* in another dimension half the time. ( or napping).  Maybe they should sub for George.

That midlands show sounds like a fat neckbeard guy in a Fedora.  Am I wrong?  I can't be.  I'm never wrong about things like this.

That Jimmy Chunga Church guy is pretty good.  I know you guys turned on him after he didn't get on his knees and become rumpswaber for the Obama, or liberal causes.  But I think his show is usually pretty good, and he is engaged with the guest.  His guests are typically excellent too, even though he has some flakes.  It's a listenable show, which is rare these days.

That British guy is pretty decent depending on the guest and topic.
