Global cooling and the coming ice age came a few years later, in the 70s.  Same solution though.

As someone corpulent and comfortable, I sit here in below freezing weather with my heat turned off to save the planet.  And the money I don't have.

I suppose it depends on what we'd be too late for. Too late to prevent climate change? If the scientists are to be believed it was too late about a decade ago if you really dig into the research. Too late to avert our extinction? We'd need to emit another few centuries of C02 to get to that stage.

This is the UK today, Some places have had it since before christmas and the forecasters have no idea when it will end. Tonight some places are expected to get a month's rain in the next 24 hours, on top of what they've had already. Most places haven't had any snow yet. We're due another storm coming in next tuesday, possibly before.

Crazy weather all over the world with all the snow/ice in the US South but what is happening in Britain is a real shame, especially because it appears the government was aware of potential problems and is sacrificing the country-side and villages for the benefit of the cities. I'm not sure, however, that my driving a pick-up truck is causing me ice storms or excessive rain the UK. If there was only some way to cheaply transfer water. Like if we could take the excess water from all the floods that happen yearly in the north and channel the water to the West where farmers are in drought.

In Southern California right now, I am walking around in a tank top and shorts like its summer (and its 8pm).

Watch out wearing a hoodie lest police shoot you. They are buying up ammo and getting all kinds of sweet-heart deals on military weapons from the Feds and got an itching trigger-finger.

California already outlawed small engines (lawnmowers, gokarts, leafblowers, etc) and now they are going to outlaw internal combustion (I guess also diesel, propane, etc) engines for vehicles, even for farming, construction, and so on.

Idiots think electricity doesn't come from a power plant (usually) and good luck with your electric battery car during a calamity like an earthquake, wildfire, storm, or fleeing the homeless junkie hoards. I don't think you can even have backup batteries for these modern electric cars- so no charging, no going.
