I was joking about Eddie, but if you search for him in the MemberList, he isn't there. He's either been banned or he asked MV to change his user name. It looks like his last post as Eddie was on page 165 of the unreadable 'Art Bell Quits Dark Matter' thread.

Yep, Eddie Coyle is into at least the 2d day of a ban. I don't really know why, other than he whipped up an Eddie Special and really let somebody have it. I don't know how long he's banned - could be permanent. It doesn't look good: he's as self-destructive as Art, and he just insists on pushing MV's buttons. I've spoken on his behalf before, more than once in fact, but I figure it's best for all concerned to just stay out of it. He's a grown guy.

But at least there's some hope: Lily showed us that a ban is nothing if you want to come here badly enough....

No place here for a smart, funny (and occasionally profane) autodidact, but two boring assholes can take over all of the threads in the Politics forum insulting each other (with at least one accusation of pedophilia) and a moronic, white-trash narcissist can add post after post after post, often three or more in a row, containing the most intimate details of his meaningless personal life, including videos of him blabbering about one thing or another from his pigsty of a home?

I loved how she would drop obvious clues to her previous identity each time she came back.  It's sort of like she enjoyed getting banned and coming back.

Something tells me this last banning if Eddie might be permanent.  He took a few really nasty shots at MV before he finally got the boot.  As much as he railed against multiple accounts, I doubt he'd try to come back under one.  Shame.... He was a big part of what made this place what it is.

That's the great shame of it. But you can only ask MV to overlook an insult so many times.

Eddie often said the things I was too chicken shit even anonymously to say.

He will be missed.

I have a feeling you're right about the permanent ban and that sucks. I can see both sides of it, and I like them both a lot but no way is MV or any forum administrator letting someone take shots at him forever. I hope this is a one week cooling off deal, but if Eddie is gone permanently he's taking some of what made coastgab so much fun with him, and I will miss him.

And stevesh, I agree with you 100% on all counts.

The place is changing, no doubt about it.  It's MV's place, his rules, and I get that.  But banning Eddie is the kind of thing that sends a bit of a chilling message about what this forum could become. 

I don't see Eddie's name on the member's list anymore so perhaps he has been banished.
