Mark Driscoll started an infamous megachurch called Mars Hill here in Seattle, originally in Ballard and then moving downtown, who was kicked out for being an asshole and using church funds to buy copies of his book on amazon to get it in the best-seller list, a scam you will recognize from a lot of these people.

He moved to AZ and is apparently now knee-deep in their batshit politics, which is hardly surprising.

In a timely fashion, HULU has released a documentary about the upstanding, moral and very pious couple who grifted, I mean ran a 'university' until they didn't. In a perfectly explainable series of events it appeared their sanctimonious exterior whereby the students at said university couldn't hold hands, kiss or even dance together on campus hid a very none evangelical and thoroughly hypocritical under belly that for reasons only they can explain wasn't made public by them; But it was by their former pool boy who supported by e mails and texts from the couple proved their slight indiscretions.

Now it should go without saying that what they do with consenting adults is their business and theirs alone. No-one should feel it incumbent on them to preach to others how they should live their lives if it doesn't harm or corrupt others. Most if not all free thinking adults would agree I'm sure.

So step forward Jerry Jr and Becki Falwell.

There also are some theories, lest I just post on certain tribal influences, that America defeated the Roman Church and caused II to spread our non-secular, or at least non-papist, values, and also fund the war machine, a.k.a. military-industrial-complex, and bring 'Americanism,' (which the pope said was a baddie) to the world. It likely has been banned but one paper, Times? Telegraph? Mail?, I forget used to have a section on Sundays where people sent in hilarious mistranslated items from menus, signage, etc. It was hilarious but likely 'cancelled' due to the underlying perception of racism or some rot. But some were great and hilarious! The letters section of a recent Economist pointed out some old book that translated Russia to English but the author knew neither but knew French and so used a dictionary Russian->French and then French->English. The result amazing.
