According to some agencies humans are simply a commodity, like everything else. Some stats claims, I don't know if true, that human trafficking (use for forced labor, prostitution, slavery, fishing, migration/invasion, etc) it only is second to illegal drugs. Likely less than various and sundry financial crimes but those are too complex to get much coverage, or not investigated because 'too big to fail,' 'The Big Guy,' and politicians, suddenly, becoming multimillionaires- and don't rock the boat, we will lift all boats from this deal done in the cloakroom and we know what you did in the cloakroom, so you better vote this way.

Arguably it is simply transactional and if both parties are of age and informed: who are we to say? As promoted for decades in that way of thinking. Outright selling and trafficking via fraud is likely not a good thing. But also, still being Devil's advocate reasoning here, the diminishment of actual harsh crimes, like that connected Democrat guy in LA who got off on watching black guy's OD and was allowed to do so for years, or some actual, violent rape, being equated with a drunken grope or lewd comment is also bad. And likely a strategy to make certain things once loathed, or at least not spoken about, a 'new normal.' Sort of like we are supposed to accept crime on the streets and blame the victims. I think in Sweden and Germany there even was some, minor, push to accept rape because of 'cultural differences.' Hand-wringing after attacks because 'what did we do to cause this recent beheading?'

The problem with transactional relationships is that they are fundamentally bad for children, as kids grow up they see father sagging toward impotence, mother's growing contempt and chafing at her subservience, teaches them that love is nothing more than a tool.  Utterly perverse and demonic.

People think of this as the patriarchy that must be upheld but that is a total fraud, based on history and culture written by elites and for elites where transactional relationships were common.  Most of us descend from low-class peasant folk married a girl from the village, peasant women always portrayed in literature as coarse and loud and hearty, not dutifully obedient.  That is elite behavior, modesty and decorum are the chains of aristocrats.

Forcing "certain things once loathed, or at least not spoken about" back into their closet is a key tenet of Putinism, makes hypocrites of vast swathes of society with deviant tastes, ripe for subversion and manipulation.  Better to have sunlght, openness, creepy things hide in the dark.

In the first stages of the war Pooty's navy took potshots at cargo ships entering and leaving Odessa which is in the Ukraine where all the grain for the starving kids in Africa was being held, no ships could go in or out.  Russia was blockading the grain.  I think they reached some sort of deal since then where they let some out, because it looked too bad for Pootie.
