Naturally the cult threw their money at him but instead of financing a wall, almost a $million went in his pocket! He was charged (as you do with criminals) but his pal the orange blimp, pardoned him...for stealing from erm, drump supporters.  And yet, they still throw money at the grift machine!

His bitterness at the fall of the Soviet Union and the 'westernising' of the new Russia and it's satellite countries that were in the SU consumes him. And as a former Colonel in the KGB he's got some scores to settle with NATO and any former SU country that is now a democracy who has designs to join NATO or the EU.

One particular thorn is Ukraine; the previous President was a useful Putin ally but was voted out and the incoming (and current) President is less partial to Putin and the people in the new democracy agreed.

Putin, ever the sabre rattling tyrant, launched attacks and continues to do so on Ukraine because he's a tyrant and despot.

Russia holds nuclear weapons, with a trigger happy despot at the controls..NATO also has nuclear weapons, and if Putin made the decision to ever launch them on a NATO country, NATO would almost certainly retaliate.

So although she's crap, Liz Truss is merely reiterating decades of NATO policy.

I would've rather liked if NATO morphed into protecting Western Civilization, in general theory not, necessarily in the relgious aspect we have Orthodox in NATO. And there was a window decades ago where, maybe, even get Russia on 'our side,' against  others. Bring India in also in some side-deal and other Orientals. China is enemy to most. And some limited Islam  ones and the people that can't be criticized even.
